Happy 50

Happy Sunday! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

I've just finished another card. I'm quite pleased of how this one turned out. Going to be hard to mail this one out.

This week's challenge at Cute Card Thursday: "Challenge 60 -- Letters and Numbers. Please include letters or numbers on your creations this week!" Perfect! I have to create a 5oth birthday card and wanted to have a huge number 50 on it.

Here's the card.

The number zero is simply cut out using my Coluzzle oval template. The number five takes a bit more work. No template, oh boy--I had to draw this one out by hand first and then cut it out with a craft knife.

This is the first time I've included stiching on my cards. Hey, I like doing this. I'll have to do more stiching, but I think I have to adjust the tension on my sewing machine first. You probably can't tell here but I can see those bottom threads peeking up, hee hee. I've added a couple of those punched-out swirls and attached some pearls and blings. And voila!

And the inside of the card .....

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! We've got an extra day tomorrow-- stats holiday. Yipee!!!

  15. WOW, what a fantastic card Norma. My friend,
Debbie Pamment, told me about this card when she showed me the 40th Birthday card she just made for a friend of hers. I now see what she means - your work is incredible.
I have just checked out your blog and your Magnolia cards are wonderful - such great inspiration there. Will be following your site from now on. Love it!

  16. absolutely gorgeous Norma - the inside of the card is wonderful too - especially little tilda framed in the oval. The card looks very much like a quilt. The number 5 is great! looks like you used a template :) I got your site from the link that Debbie Pamment used on her blog......
