Hello! Happy Monday.

And welcome to the January Blog Hop of Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group's Christmas All Year Long Group. Is that quite a mouthful or what! The aim of this group is to post a Christmas card on the 25th of each month so that by the time Christmas comes around you will have a dozen cards, or rather eleven. I know I will need more than that, but that's the least that I will have!

We're doing this as a blog hop--my first. Woo hoo! My name is listed somewhere in the middle of the group of participants. If you started from the beginning of the list--you would have started with Julie's card--Julie is the initiator of this group. And if you faithfully follow down the list, then you would have come here from Monique's blog. (Hmm...I don't know if you actually have to start at the beginning though, as the list goes in a circle anyway.)

So, this is my Christmas card.

To make this card I used Nicole's wonderful sketch that she's provided for the Truly Scrumptious Challenge #24.

During this past holiday season, I bought this thick book of a collection of Christmas DP's and a lot of the pages have the colour teal in them, so I've decided to make the colour scheme for this card a monochromatic teal.

I am using this card as my entry to the Simon Says Challenge with their theme this week Punch It!!!

I went a little overboard with the punched leaves for the mistletoe branch. I could have continued to the top of the card with them..hee hee.., but I did stopped half way.

I've added a sprinkling of glitter to the top of Tilda's dress and also her pockets. Hope you can see that in this close-up.

This is also my entry to the Cutie-Stampers Challenge #39 - Magnolia.

Hello. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

I've been working on a couple of cards, but I can't post them yet. So I don't have a new card to show you. But I would like to show a card I made last year for the contest that Magnolia Sweden was having for their first issue of the Magnolia Ink magazine. I didn't win anything, but my card made it into the pages of the magazine. It was a wonderful surprise!!! And it was certainly a surprise as the first time I knew about it, was when Cami e-mailed me to congratulate me for my card being published--and I didn't know what she was talking about!...LOL. Anyway, here's the card.

If you have this magazine, I'm on page 43...hee hee. Sorry, but I still feel giddy when I think of it. I mean, me....who would have thunk it!!!

And I had to wait it seemed like forever to get my hands on a copy, as the first shipment of the magazine went out like hotcakes and they were out of stock almost right away at Diana's store. The 2nd shipment took too long to arrive!!! Anyway it was thrilling to finally get the magazine and see a picture of my card within its pages. Which when you come to think of it, is kind of weird...I mean I have the real thing in front of me. Go figure!

Here is my latest card using one of the In2stamps images designed by Luc Vincent. This one is called Yummy for My Tummy from the Birthday Collection. This is such an adorable image for a birthday card.

I have given the card a more 3-D look by stamping parts of the image a few times and mounting them on double-sided foam tape/dimensionals. You can see the different levels/layers in the picture below.

Happy Sunday everyone! (Yikes, I'm late with this posting!!!...sorry)

After a much-appreciated Christmas break, we're back with our first challenge for the new year at Magnolia Down Under. This is our Challenge #30 and the theme is Valentines…..We want to see, reds, hearts, love anything romantic.

At the Dutch Dare Card Challenges, Wilma has provided this wonderful sketch which I have used to create my easel card.

I am also using this card as my entry to the Creative Belli Blog Challenge #82 of Glitter or Rhinestones.

I have used an image from the Magnolia Easter Collection 2009. she is called Easter Tilda. On the original image, Tilda is carrying a few baby chicks in her kerchief. I've covered them up with some punched hearts which I've covered with red and pink glitters. I hope you can see that in this close-up and also the glitter I have added to her blouse.

Pink & Grey - Cute Card Thursday Challenge #95

Hello! Happy Thursday!

This is my second and last Guest DT card for Cute Card Thursday. It's been a blast! Thank you, Caz. For Challenge #95, it's a colour challenge of Pink & Grey. I've made an easel card for it.

The card is based on this wonderful sketch from the Double Dutch challenge blog.

I've used the Magnolia image of Tilda from the So Spooky Collection 2009. She is called So Spooky Tilda--I know, I know, it's a puzzle to me too...hee hee. The original image has her with a broom and I've did some masking and then cut out the broom. So instead of a Halloween card, now I have a general card. Not sure what I want to use it for. I can use this card for any occasion by adding the approriate sentiment somewhere on the card at a later date.

Paper Lace Tutorial...sort of

As many of you had commented on the paper lace that I used in my Black Pearl Tilda Card in my previous posting, I thought I would do a short tutorial on Paper Laces. As I mentioned though, when you see these paper laces, really, anybody can figure out how to do them, but maybe you just never thought of making them and incorporating them into your cards or projects. As they’re very easy to do, this is more of a display of the various ones that you can make. They are done with your border punches, strips of paper and by doing the punches on both sides of the paper length. You get different results by positioning your punch differently at the opposing sides.

If you don't already have the daisy/flower punch that I used before--I really didn't mean for you to go out and buy it right away (unless you really really love that pattern...LOL)--you can probably used an existing border punch that you have in your collection.

But I hereby confess...hee hee, I am a punch addict too!!!

Okay, here goes..... (I've written down the width of the paper that I used at the left side.)

These last ones are my favorite, I think. They look so elegant, don't they?

I have a few Fiskars border punches too, but you get the idea! Any border/edge punch will do the trick. You just have to vary the width of your paper strip depending on your punch. Experiment with different widths until the resulting lace is pleasing to your eyes. These are just some samples. You can create your own.

Use them on your cards if you don't have real lace. Sometime a plain ribbon is what's required, but if you need to add a little pizzaz to your cards, this might do the trick.

Black Pearl Tilda - Cute Card Thursday Challenge #94

Happy Thursday everyone!

Woo hoo!! I've been given the privilege of being a Guest DT at the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog for this week and the next. Thank you Caz for the opportunity.

The challenge for their Week 94 is: All New - they want to see your cards/projects that feature something new. It can be new stash, new year, new baby, new school term...really it is up to you...as long as there is something NEW! And this is my card.

I have actually used three new products for this card. The Magnolia image of Dinner Tilda I have actually bought from Magnolia-licious a while back, but this is the first chance I have of using it on a card, so it's newly used..LOL.

A couple of new tools I have acquired over the holiday season. One of them is the Martha Stewart border punch featuring flowers. I made the paper lace with it and you can probably figure out how I did it. Here's how anyway: cut a 1" in strip of paper and punch on both sides of the strip as shown below.

The other new tool I got is a Spellbinders Nestabilities.

I have used one of my favorite colour schemes for this card, which is to take black & white and then add one other colour.

I gave Tilda a bit of style by having her wearing her black pearl necklace and bracelet... hee hee.

I am not really sure what I am going to use this card for, so I have left it blank with no sentiment. I can easily add a sentiment to suit the occasion at a later date.

This is my DT card for the challenge.

The image I have used is the Pirate B-day Party from the Birthday Collection. I thought this would be the perfect image to use on a birthday card for a little boy. The candle image is one of four in the Birthday Ornaments set from the same collection.

I have stamped the image twice. The second one I have cut out and mounted on foam tape (or dimensionals) for a more 3-D look.

I hope you will take a look at the cards from the other DT members--they have done amazing jobs with the challenge--and will join us. The challenge is open until February 1st.
