Hello!
Just a short posting to show you a birthday card I made for a special friend (or rather I'm planning this to be short...LOL).
Now that's she's received her card (belated!!!) in the mail, I can do the posting for it.
I have used this Magnolia image of Waiting Tilda from the You Are So Special Collection 2011 for the card front. The field of flowers is Lazy Summer Flowers from the...what else...Lazy Summer Days Collection 2009. All the images I've coloured are Magnolia images and they are available from Magnolia-licious --Diana's on-line store for everything and anything Magnolia. And check out the mini versions of the Magnolia images too!
This was a work in masking...at least for me! I stamped the flowers first and masked them. Then I stamped the Tilda image and masked her. Then I stamped another set of flowers. So now Tilda has flowers in front and behind her.
This is a criss-cross card. It's only the second time I've used this card style. The criss-crossed paper, glued at the bottom forms a pocket and you can insert anything you want in there.
I've made this pull-out tag/card featuring Dancy Tilda from Collection 2011. This adorable image is of Happy Spring Tilda. She is from Magnolia's Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011. I used the back of the card to write my personal message on. This way I don't feel like I'm destroying my card. My handwritting is really terrible!!--it's better if it stays hidden...LOL.
A few challenges that I would like to enter with this card:
Emerald Faerie Garden - Challenge # 10 - Punches and Dies
Creatalicious - Challenge #27 - Distress your edges. I've only distressed them by inking them.
Just Magnolia hAnglar & sTanglar - Week 128 – Distressing
Okay, that's it for me today. Now, I'm off to work on some Christmas cards. My inventory is sadly very low. How are you guys doing with yours? You do know that Christmas is less than 3 months away, right? 10 weeks tomorrow to be exact! Yikes!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I always appreciate your visit. Enjoy your weekend!
(This wasn't as short as I thought it would be....LOL)

ReplyDeleteI have no idea how you managed that masking, but it is fabulous! Well done. It makes a very pretty picture. Love the folds in Tilda's dress. Beautiful! hugs Sharon
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card! I love the background dp and your coloring/design of the inside and outside of your card is just perfect. I'm sure your friend was delighted.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Norma, this is definitely a masking job that must've been a great task to accomplish. I can't believe you masked the flowers then stamped Tilda behind it with all those skinny stems! I don't think I could ever attempt something as intricate as this. But it's BEAUTIFUL!!! The tag insert is also very pretty and the front is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cami
