Children's Animal Farm - Magnolia-licious Summer Blog Hop

Hello.  Oh wow, it's June already!  Happy June everybody.

It's Blog Hop time at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog--it's our Summer Blog Hop. The DT gals have been busy creating 'summer themed' projects.  Visit the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog to find out how you can join in the fun to win a Surprise Package from Magnolia-licious.

If you're already taking part in this blog hop and have come here from the super talented Jane's blog then you're in the right track.  If not, then you may want to start at the beginning--or in case you get lost along the way--here's a list of the participants in blog hop order:

First, a bit of explanation about my project and how it ties in with the summer theme for me.
We have an annual summer event here where I live, the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE for short).  It's our summer fair--a combination of exhibits, food, entertainment and playland (rides, rollercoaster, games, etc.).  I haven't been there for a while--a looong while...hee hee--but I remember that as part of their Agriculture exhibit, they have a children's animal farm or petting zoo where little kids can look at and sometime mingle with baby farm animals--my fave was those adorable yellow baby chicks!

And so...this project is inspired by that fun place.

Yes, yes, I know...not all of the animals are baby animals, but I have to make do with what I have, so just pretend...okay?

Can't tell you how long this took me to do...in total.  I did things a bit at a time.  Involves a LOT of surfing on the internet trying to figure out what everything should look like and how to make them.
This weathervane alone took me half a day to make...phew!  I used black cardstock, bamboo skewers and black marker to colour all the bamboo pieces black.

The fence were made of popsicle sticks.

There's a bale of hay against the barn--can you see it?  I used raffia for it.

I thought this project was perfect for showcasing some of the new stamps from the just-released Magnolia stamp collection, the Animals of the Year Collection 2014:

Tilda With Elsie the Lamb

- Tilda With Cockadoodledoo the Rooster

- Tilda With Inez the Bunny

- Tilda With Nestor the Bull

Of course, the stamps for all these adorable images are available at Magnolia-licious, Diana's on-line store, where you can find other equally adorable full-size and mini Magnolia stamps.  And if you don't see the particular one you are looking for, ask Diana if she can bring it in for you.  Also available are stamps from Wee StampsWild Rose StudiosPenny Black and Candibeans.  Magnolia-licious also carries cutting dies from various companies including Memory BoxPoppyStampsMagnolia Doohickey.
Prices are discounted, you get excellent customer service and as an added bonus, you get to earn 2% credit to be applied to future purchases.  Sweet!
