Sending Love Your Way - Magnolia-licious 'Anything Goes With Pearls'

Hello.  Happy Tuesday.

We're midway in our current challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog.  The theme is 'Anything Goes With Pearls.'  There's one more week for you to join us--I hope you can play along.
Please hop to the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog to get complete details on the challenge and don't forget to check out what my DT teammates have created to inspire you.

Here's the card that I came up with--it's a front-panel centre side-step card.

This challenge theme is right up my alley as pearls are one of my favorite embellishments.  I usually add pearls to my cards anyway, but one this card I've added a lot more of them than I usual do.

Here's a view of the inside of my card.

I love the fancy-fold feature of this type of card--it's one of my favorite card styles.
(You can find the template that I used HERE if you're interested.)

Here's closer look at the Magnolia Stamps images being showcased.

- Tilda With Heart from the You Are So Special Collection 2011

- Kangaroo Tilda from the Australian Collection 2012.
I've had this stamp for a long time but I think this is the first chance I've got to ink and colour the image --pathetic, eh? since she's just adorable.

Magnolia Stamps are available from Magnolia-licious, Diana's on-line store where she carries a large selection of both full-size and mini Magnolia stamps.  And if you don't see the particular one you are looking for, e-mail Diana and I'm sure she'll be happy to bring it in for you.
And other-brand stamps that the store carries include Stamping BellaWee StampsWild Rose StudiosSaturated Canary and Crafter's Companion.

Hello Spring!

Hello.  Happy Spring!

Yay...spring has arrived and I've got this beautiful image for a card to celebrate the season.

I see the clematis (armandii) vines blooming everywhere around my neighbourhood, so I've incorporated their flowers into my card.  I love clematis!!!

A closer look at the digital stamp from A Day For Daisies.

This image is called Morning Dew Fairy.

2-Tier Box Tutorial

Hello.

The 2-tier box (pictured above) that I posted in my previous posting, HERE, was the first 2-tier box I made. I encountered a few small problems while putting it together.  I've made a few adjustments to the original design and measurements.  So this tutorial is for, though not exactly the same, a similar 2-Tier Box.  And I like to think it has better construction.

(The measurements on my scoreboard are in inches, so the step-by-step instructions below are in inches.  For those of you who work in centimetres, I've included the templates in centimetres also.  However they're not exact conversion of the ones in inches.  I used the same template drawings though because I'm too lazy...hee hee...to draw another set of templates and just inserted the cm measurements, so they're not to scale, okay?  The metric box is a wee bit smaller, but the measurements are ones that I think are easy to work with.  And yes, you can fit 4 Ferrero Rocher chocolates in each drawer...yay.)

Cardstock pieces required:
one - 7 1/4" x 7 1/4"
two - 9" x 9"
one - 6 1/2" x 6 3/4"
one - 6 1/2" x 7 1/4"

LID

Step 1
Place the 7 1/4" x 7 1/4" cardstock piece on the scoreboard and score at 1", 2", 5 1/4" and 6 1/4".
Rotate cardstock 90 degrees to the left/right and score again at 1", 2", 5 1/4" and 6 1/4".

Step 2
Cut and fold as per template above.

Step 3
Glue in place to form your lid.

DRAWERS (create 2)

Step 4
Place the 9" x 9" cardstock piece on the scoreboard and score at 1 1/2", 3", 6 and 7 1/2".
Rotate cardstock 90 degrees to the left/right and score again at 1 1/2", 3", 6 and 7 1/2".

Step 5
Cut and fold as per template above.

Step 6
Glue in place to form your drawers.

SIDES

Printable PDF:  2-Tier Box - Sides (in centimetres)

Step 7
Score the two pieces of cardstock by referring to the templates above for placement of paper on the scoreboard.
- score at 1/2", 3 5/8" and 6 3/4" (on the 2nd piece only)
- rotate 90 degrees and score at 1 5/8" and 4 7/8"

Step 8
Cut and fold as per templates above.

Step 9
Join the 2 pieces together as shown below.

Step 10
Glue in place to form the sides of your box.

Step 11
Glue one of the drawers as shown below, to form the right-side bottom drawer.

Step 12
Glue the other drawer a shown below, to form the left-side top drawer.

Step 13
There you have it!  Now you can decorate the box as you desired.

I'm working on decorating my box further with cutie images and embellishments.  I'll post it when I'm done.

Edited July 21, 2017:  Finally...here's the finished box!  It sure took me a while getting around to it, eh?

That's it for now.  Have fun crafting!

Easter 2-Tier Gift Box and Card - Magnolia-licious Easter Blog Hop

Hello.

Our Easter Blog Hop at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog gets under way today.  To get complete details of the challenge and how to play along with us, please visit the challenge blog.

If you're already taking part in the Blog Hop and have arrived here from Chris' blog, then you're on the right track.  If you didn't come from her blog then you just may want to start at the beginning.  Here's a list of the participating DT gals in blog hop order:

Here's what I've created for this Blog Hop--it's an Easter Gift Box along with an Easter card.

Taking a closer look at the gift box first.

The box opens sideway to reveal that it's actually a 2-Tier Gift Box.  Cool, eh?

I saw a model of this box on Pinterest, loved the design so I tried to recreate it.  I made the drawers just large enough so each can be filled with 4 Ferrero Roches chocolate pieces...oh yum!

Edited:  I've now posted the tutorial/templates for a 2-Tier Box that you can find HERE, if you're interested.

Now, for the greeting card, it's really a Surprise Pop-Up Card.

There's a tab at the top/back of the card that you pull out.  The centre panel slides upward to reveal a surprise message/sentiment.

There's a Surprise Pop Up Card tutorial at the Splitcoast Stampers site HERE if you're interested.

Here are close-ups of the Magnolia-Stamps images being featured.
