Hello! Happy Tuesday morning!

I've made this card for 2 challenges.

This is the Carole's wonderful sketch at the Friday Sketchers challenge blog--Sketch 58.

And at the Roses on Paper, their Challenge #14 is: A Combined Challenge, Incorporating Flowers!

I've used the adorable Magnolia image of the Sweetheart Tilda. The DP's I've used are from Basic Grey Wisteria collection, thus the title of the card (I couldn't think of anything else--my mind's a blank this morning--LOL). The cardstock I've used for the flowers is a double-sided paper, but there's no name printed on it.

I've put some glitter on Tilda's blouse. I ran my glue stickpen over the entire surface of the blouse, dumped some glitter on top of it and shook off the access. I don't know if you can tell from this close-up or not.

Phew! Finally finished this card. This card was made for 2 challenge blogs--started out as one, but I can use it for an entry in another now.

The Next Level Issue 4 challenge gives you a choice of a couple types of card to make (tutorials included). One of them is the Stair Step Fold Card and that's what I've chosen.

At the Cute Card Thursday, the theme for their Challenge 66 is : Wheely Good Fun! "This week we want to see some wheels on your creation!"

Here's the finished product.

This is more overhead view of the card (not by much, but at least you can see to the bottom of each stair).

All the images used, except for the grass, are from Magnolia.

Patriotic July

Happy Saturday everyone!

Ahh.. weekend. Two days of rest and relaxation. Hee hee hee... I can dream, can't I?

Since we're nearing the end of June and the first of July is just around the corner, I thought I had better finish this card pretty darn fast. I wanted to make this card for the July Home Page challenge at the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group.

A second tri-shutter card from me. (You can see Bonnie's tutorial for this type of card by clicking here.) The idea for this card was buzzing around in my head while I was making the first one. The theme is: Patriotic - Red White & Blue. So, okay...patriotic colours! Wellll...for me that would be just red and white! But I can make this work, since my colours are part of those 3 challenge colours. So, red white and blue for the folks south of the border. And red and white for us folks north of the 49th parellel.

Here's my card. What do you think? Appropriate, eh? LOL


I've flatten the card for picture taking so you can see what the entire card looks like.

As you can see I've used the Magnolia stamp of Tilda with Chicks pictured here (I think it's from the Easter 2009 collection, though I can't be sure). So there are chirping chicks hiding under those stars and maple leaves in Tilda's arms--LOL.

The small stars were made with a punch. The larger stars were hand-drawn, then cut out. All from white cardstock, then coloured with markers, washed with glue from a Glue Stickpen and then dipped in transparent glitter.

The maples leaves (small, medium and large) were punched from dark-red cardstock, then I used a stylus to curl them up.

The DP with the stars and stripes is Creative Imaginations double-sided paper (can't find a name for it). The DP with the maple leaves I've made using a wooden rubber stamp I got from Michaels for $1.50.

Sunflower #2

Hello!

I haven't been very productive this week, but I finally got one card finished. I was trying to get this done earlier tonight, but kept getting distracted by the Michael Buble show that was on TV--I just luvvv…that guy. He's such a funny guy…and that voice! (Sigh.)

Anyway, this card was made using Beatrix's sketch for the Friday Sketchers Challenge # 57. Wonderful sketch! Thanks, Bea.

And… at the Just Magnolia challenge, for their week #10, "Our challenge this week is "Summer" - so any project that is inspired by Summer is what we are looking for."

If you ask me to name a summer flower, my first response would probably be sunflower. Sunflowers make me think of a time when I was cycling around Europe through fields and fields of sunflowers (this was in France, I think). It was such a lovely sight. Ah, those were the days. (Another sigh.) Okay, getting back! Of course, the obvious choice of a Magnolia image for this is the Tilda with Sunflower. What else!

(The colours look a bit weird in the pictures. In real life, the colours, especially the orange aren't so glaring--a bit more pastel/softer.)

Check out the sunflowers I made. The flower centre is made using a circle-with-zigzag-edges punch by Anna Griffin. I punched out a circle from brown cardstock. Then I criss-crossed black embroidery thread across it to form those little black squares. Can't think where, but I must have seen this done somewhere.

Peahes and Cream

Happy Sunday! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

This is the second card that I made for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge as a guest DT. And after just visiting their blog to see the posting, I realize that I goofed on this one. Ooooops, sorry, Kellie. How embarrasing is this!

The current challenge is a colour challenge, with a choice. You can do either…
Pink, Brown and Cream/White
Orange, Brown and Cream/White
Blue, Brown and Cream/White.

Well, as it turns out, I completely missed the brown part. I thought I would choose the colour combination that I haven't use before, which I thought would be orange and cream, just those 2 colours. Soooooo.... I don't have any brown at all on my card. I was even trying to keep it strictly in orange and cream, but I broke down at the last minute and added a bit of green. Maybe we can pretend the green is brown instead--LOL. Oh well, here's my card anyway.

I've used a vintage Tilda here, the Cross Stitch Tilda. I was able to find one DP with the right shade of orange that I wanted to use, but couldn't find another one. So I stamped my own DP as I do have a stamp ink pad with just that shade of orange to match. I used this for the 3 horizontal strips on the card. The colours of the card looks like orange and white in the pictures, but the white is really cream colour in real life.

Here is the latest card I've created.

This card was made using this wonderful sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge blog, their sketch # 55.

It is also for Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog. They are celebrating their one-year birthday (Happy 1st Birthday ladies!), so their theme this week is: Celebrations.

And... a third challenge here. Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog is also celebrating their one-year birthday (Happy Birthday to the ladies there too!). So this is my entry for their similar challenge for this week, which is: Let's Celebrate.

This Penny Black clear-stamp set that I've recently bought was a great find for me. There are 5 images and a few sentiments in it. I've found that most of the time when I buy a set, only a few of the images appeals to me and the rest I can do without--LOL. But in this set I like all 5 images--they are very cute.

For the inside of the card, I used 2 more of the stamps from the set.

See, aren't those hedgehogs just adorable? They are the hedgehogs from the earlier years, I think.

Dots dots dots

The Magnolia image I'm using here is the Spring Tilda. I must warn you this card is quite colourful as the DP I found seems to have dots in rainbow colours.

This latest card of mine was made with 2 challenges in mind. The Friday Sketchers Challenge blog has this wonderful sketch provide by Jeanette for their challenge # 56. And over at Stamp with Fun challenge blog, their theme for this week is: Dots--the reason for the colourful DP.

Flowers Say Hello

Happy Sunday to all!

I had a work/clean-up party (hmm...why do they call it a party?) yesterday at my community garden, and now my muscles are sore, sore, sore!!!

Anyway I've got a card done for Cute Card Thursday Challenge blog. "Challenge 64 - Quotations! This week we want to see you use a quotation somewhere on your creation!"

I am using another old-image Tilda that I have used numerous times (and will again and again), the Heart Jumper Tilda, one of my favorites. And using a very simple layout, this is the card...

I love putting flowers on my cards. And this "Flowers Say Hello from the Heart" stamp, I've also used repeatedly. It always seems appropriate.

Post-It Note Holder & Gift Box

Hello. I wasn't sure I was going to do this challenge, but I actually did it and got the entry in by the skin of my teeth. Now I'm back editing my postings. LOL.

The Challenge is at Magnolia-licious Hilites. And this is it:
"How do you play?-Create your own "Post-It Note Holder & Gift Box"--Tutorial and instructions on Bridgett Owens blog HERE (thankyou Bridgett). Make sure it includes a fabulous Magnolia image and of course if it's summer themed that's great but not required."

I wasn't sure I was going to do this challenge, but decide at the last minute to try. You see, I don't have a scrol-pal so had to try to figure out the measurements. It looked like such a nice project that I wanted to see what it looks like in real life. Wasn't too sure if I could do it in time, by I gave it a shot.

This is my version of the post-it note holder and gift box.

I used the Tilda with Tag image . The DP that I used was purchased at Michaels at a really, really cheap price--part of a package they have at their bargain aisle. I made 2 post-it note holders, but the one that's sitting inside the gift box is unadorned with a Tilda--only manage to colour 2 images in the limited time--hee hee hee, that'll teach me!!!

Anyway, phew, I made it!

Now, bye!

PS. Well look at that, I was so rushed that I forgot to put something on the tag that Tilda is holding. I was going to write down "Leave a note" or "Take note". Oh well.

I have chosen this vintage-image of Tilda with Cowberry Muffin for this card.

The card was created for the Friday Sketchers challenge #55. Here's the sketch provide by the very talented Jacque.

For this card, I am using the colours that were chosen for the challenge at Roses on Paper. "Challenge #13...A color challenge! For this challenge, DT member Susan would like you to use the colors Pink, Yellow & Green!".

I happen to have a piece of leftover DP that has all these 3 colours. And I have just enough of it to cover the front of the card.

If I put the sentiment at the right-hand side as per skecth, I would be covering part of Tilda's shoes , so I've switched it over to the left side of the card.

And I've decorated the inside this way:

Showers and Flowers

A good Tuesday morning to all.

Although we're approaching summer, what with the warmer weather and thoughts of graduation and all, according to the calendar it's really still Spring. So one last Spring card from me. I've made a tri-shutter card!!!

I'm always on the lookout for unusual/out-of-the-ordinary types of card to make. My sister directed me to a blog site (sorry, can't remember whose) showing a tri-shutter card. I was impressed. And the blogger has provided a link to a tutorial blog. So, of course I have to make one myself. And what's more, here is the current Challenge #8 at the Truly Scrumptious Challenge blog: "we'd like you to make a card that has more than one fold. Because there are so many different options for this challenge we don't have a sketch or a theme for you this time." What perfect timing!

I was searching for 2 Tilda images that I can put on the same card. Ones that relate to each other so that I can make a sort of 2-page story, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I've chosen these two from the Magnolia Chasing Butterfly collection: Tilda in Spring Rain and Tilda Picking Lilacs. The 2 Tildas looks like the same Tilda with the pigtails and all.

Here's the card. This is when you stand it up on a flat surface.

I've opened the card and put it flat on the table so you can see the entire card.

And when you close it, of course it's only one-third the size of the entire card. And this becomes the front of the card.

The sentiment is not from a stamp. I had it done with a computer and printer.

The tutorial on this is showing this as a Scrol-Pal project, so for those of you who have a scrol-pal, making this card will be very easy to do--a breeze. Since I don't have a scrol-pal (ahem...cough, cough), I went with the basic method of ruler and pencil--LOL. And I had to rework the measurements given in the tute anyway, so I can fit the 2 Tildas onto the card.

Happy Sunday morning to all! And it really is early Sunday morning here as it's 45 minutes after midnight--I'm a night owl. LOL). I'm posting my card for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge and I have to be conscious of the time difference as it's 17 hours ahead down under, so they're already approaching their evening hours. Wow.

This is my first card as a guest DT at MDUC--woo hoo! Thank you again Kellie for this opportunity. The challenge has been switched to a fortnight one now instead of weekly. I'll be a guest DT for the next 4 challenges.

I took that to mean that we have to use an Edwin image instead of a Tilda. Not a hard choice for me, as I only have 2 Edwin stamps-LOL. I know, I know, I have to get more Edwins!!! I've only used one of my Edwins, so for this card I'm using the one that I haven't used. It's the Traveler Edwin. And this is the card.

Don't you just love that brick wall? It's a Magnolia stamp. It's one of the stamps that I purchased in my very first order from Magnolia-licous, though I've never used it before in any of my cards. And oooh, this is actually very nice to use. It's so versatile! You can put any sitting Tilda or Edwin on this brick wall. I must use it more!!! I've chosen to colour the bricks as cement bricks here, instead of using terra cotta, so that the colours won't jar with the other cool colours of this card. I've also added some clouds from the summer background stamp. Hhmm... had to do a bit of masking there.

I've decorated the inside of my card this way.

I finally got my card done for the Magnolia-licious June sketch challenge.

(I'm constantly playing catch-up with the challenges that are out there. Don't know which one to tackle next. We've got possible challenges coming out our ears, don't we?. May have to start tossing a coin, hee hee hee.)

Anyway, here's the end result of my work. I'm finally using the new Tilda with Butterfly image from the Chasing Butterfly collection--she's soo.. cute. I wondered about the cap that Tilda is wearing. Doesn't it look like a strawberry to you? LOL.

Here's a card I created using vintage Tilda image, Standing with Hair Bow.

Happy Birthday to Sketch Saturday Challenge blog. It's their one-year birthday. I've made the card using their birthday sketch shown here on the right.

I've also made this card using mainly the 2 colours from this week's Passion for Promarkers challenge: apple and pastel pink. And yes, I actually have to go out and buy the apple colour as I don't have that in my collection and at regular price too, LOL. As it turns out, it's a very nice green.

As you can see I've rotate the sketch by 90 degrees. The DP's I've chosen I've had for the longest time and never got around to using until now. Got them at Michaels, but I don't think they even sell them anymore--discontinued I think.

Tilda picking lilacs

Hello.

I've chosen another new image that I've received, Tilda Picking Lilacs from the Magnolia Chasing Butterflies collection. Isn't she just soo... adorable? This was a must-have stamp when I first saw a picture of it.

I've made this card for the Friday Sketchers Challenge 54. This week's wonderful sketch was provided by Jacqueline.

I think Jacqueline meant for us to make the shape of our cards octagonal, but I've chosen to have that shape inside my prefered square-shaped card instead. Should be okay, as most of the DT's cards are like that too, hee hee.

The border punch I used here is a Martha Stewart one. You know, I've had this punch for the longest time, but have not used it before. Don't know why, as it makes a nice fence.

Life is Better

Happy June everyone! And a good Monday morning too. Hope you've had a wonderful weekend.

I actually made this card initially for the June home page challenge for the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group. The challenge was to make a summer card.

Also, over at Cute Card Thursday, their Challenge # 62 is: Bit o' Bling. "Bring out your bling, any jewels, gems, pearls on your creations!" So I've added some half pearls and rhinestones to the card and made it my entry there too.

I've used another newly-acquired Magnolia old image stamp, Tilda with Skipping Rope. Hmm.....I thought summer, schools are out, kids are at play, fun fun fun (for parents too I hope). So here's the card.

I was going to use piece of string for the skipping rope, but I couldn't find it. All I could find was my embroidery threads and they didn't look thick enough. I know I've got a stash of strings and cords somewhere in my craft room, but the room is such a mess that I don't know where I've put them. Time to do some cleaning and organizing there!!! I did the card inside this way.
