Butterfly Garden
I have this to show you. Do you like it?
Today being the 4th Tuesday of the month, it's time for a new challenge at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog--an inspiration challenge this time. Our very talented Paola is the hostess for June and she has chosen this picture to inspire you.
Of course you can see right away where I got my inspiration, can't you? LOL.
When I first saw this picture, my eyes zeroed in on the that wooden chest of drawers and I knew immediately what I was going to make for this challenge. I've been meaning to make something like this to sort out my stamps--not image stamps...LOL, but postage stamps for mailing out my cards. I've been putting off making it, so this was the push I needed.
I will use this as my entry to the following challenges:
Stampin' For the Weekend - Challenge 11 - My Favorite Things (Magnolia stamps, easel cards, butterflies, hand-made flowers, punches and dies)
All That Scraps Magnolia Challenge - Challenge #11 -In the good ole summer time
Totally Tilda - Challenge #25 - Anything but a card
Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar - Week 112 - Butterfly theme
Hooked on Craft Challenges - Challenge 2 - Flowers
Scrap-Creations - Anything BUT a Card
I've used quite a few Magnolia images for this project:
In this scene, this is Hello Little Butterfly from the Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011 and
the Shabby Chic Fence from the Shabby Chic Summer Collection 2008. Also the Chasing Butterfly Sign from the Chasing Butterfly Sign Collection 2009.
This is Edwin with Butterfly from the Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011 also and Brick Wall (I'm not sure which collection that is from).
And again from the same butterfly collection, this is Tilda in Lace Jeans and Lazy Summer Days Flowers from the Lazy Summer Days Collection 2009.
All the Magnolia images I've used for this project are available from the Magnolia-licious on-line store. And not to forget that the mini version of these stamps are also available there. Check out the Magnolia Mini-World catalogue.
I've used my collection of Prismacolour Premier, Faber-Castell Polychromos and Derwent Colour Soft coloured pencils to colour these images. But sorry, I didn't keep track of the colours that I used as I was rushing. I admit, with the amount of time I had left to finish this, I was a bit too ambitious...LOL.
I found a little poem in the internet and I've used that as the sentiment here. (LOL...you can blow up the picture if you want to read it.)
That's it for me.
I hope you will join us in our inspiration challenge. There is a prize of $25 Gift Certificate from Magnolia-licious. Also check out the fabulous cards from my DT teammates to inspire you further. Links to their individual blogs are on my side bar, or on the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog.
And woo-hoo, the mail strike is over!!! Canada Post workers are going back to work and I can send out my birthday cards. They are a few belated birthday cards coming to a few people...sorry, can't be help!
Thanks so much for dropping by. Your visits and comments are always very much appreciated.
Have a wonderful week. Now go and create!

It's your day! - Guest DT Criss Cross Card
This is my 2nd and last Guest DT card for Top Tip Tuesday. Their theme for this week, Challenge #39, is 'Cross It' - "...cross your papers, cross your ribbons, cross your twine and then cross your fingers! Basically you can 'cross it' or you may want to have a go Annette's fab Tutorial...". Yes, one of their DT ladies, Annette, has created a wonderful easy-to-follow tutorial on a criss cross card. I decided on the criss cross card as you can see.
This adorable little gal that I've used on the front of the card is from Magnolia's latest Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011 and she is called Lying Tilda. This stamp and anything Magnolia can purchase from Magnolia-licious on-line store.
I'm going back and forth in colouring with my markers and my coloured pencils--I love both mediums now. For this card, I've coloured my images with markers--my combo of Promarker, Touch and Letraset Pantone Tria markers. Although I've also used some coloured pencils to deepened the shadings.
This is my first criss-cross cards! I'm wondering why I haven't tried this before--I'm loving this type of card. Thanks for Top Tip Tuesday for having this theme as a challenge. I will surely make more of these.
I do like how the two front triangular panels are glued at the bottom to form a pocket.
I guess you can insert anything you want into the pocket, but I have created another card front to put in it. This is the full view of the inside card.
This adorable Tilda is called Tilda Playing Hopscotch. She is also from the Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011, also available from Magnolia-licious.
I would like to use this card to enter the following challenges:
Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 85 - Pearls and Swirls
The Paper Shelter - Challenge #18 - Punches and Dies
Crafty Catz Weekly - Challenge #87 - Fancy Folds
Everybody-Art-Challenge - Challenge 147 - Anything Goes
Hooked on Craft Challenges - Challenge #1 - Anything Goes
Thanks to Leanne (blog owner) and the Top Tip Tuesday ladies for letting me join them for a couple of challenges. I had so much fun and now I even found a new type of card to play with--an added bonus...woo-hoo. Check out the Top Tip Tuesday challenge blog--as their name implied, they've got tons of tips to help you better your card-making. This is on top of their weekly challenges, the fabulous cards/projects of the DT ladies to inspire you and prizes to boot.
Thanks so much for dropping by for a look. As always, I appreciate your visit and your comments even more. Have a wonderful and productive week.

Wonderful and Special Day
I have a card to show you. Duh...what else! LOL.
I borrowed the sketch from Just Magnolia's last week's challenge for my layout. It took me too long to finish this card, so I missed the deadline...oh well.
This is a very girly Tilda, but she is just sooo...cute that I couldn't resist getting her. She is called Wonderful Tilda and she is from Magnolia's latest/newest collection, Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011. You can purchase her also from Magnolia-licious, Diana's on-line store.
My colouring here was done with my coloured pencils.
I used the Spellbinders Lacey Circle die to match the ribbon with the looped edges that I found at Michaels. And also because I saw Pat's card where she wove a string of pearls in and out of the die cut's paper loops. I wanted to do the same. You can see her fabulous card here.
I am entering the following challenges with this card:
The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge TOMIC - Challenge #2 - Pink + White + Brown

Stamp With Fun - Challenge 115 - Pearls and Flowers

Garden Friends
It's time for a new colour challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. Our hostess for the month of May is our very talented Paola and she has chosen the colour pink for our theme.
This is another type of the front-panel side step card. On the card that I posted a couple of postings ago the front panel is centered. On this one the front panel is to the side.
I've used a couple Magnolia images. Both of these images were coloured with coloured pencils. I've continue to experiment with the colourless blending pencil instead of using the
odourless solvent. I think I'm slowly getting the hang of this...LOL.
This first Tilda is called Tilda with Hawaii Flower, from the Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011.
This second Tilda is called Kneeling Tilda, from the Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011. I've cut out this Tilda and then mounted her on pieces of foam tape/dimensionals.
Both of these images are available from Magnolia-licious on-line store.
A few challenges that I am entering with this card:
Magnolia Stamp Lover Challenge - Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes - Challenge #73 - Girly Girl
Stamp With Fun - Challenge 115 - Pearls and Flowers
Crafts and Me - Challenge 38 - Stamp Something
Stamp Something - Something Punched
Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 84 - Flower Power
Okay, that's it for now. Thanks so much for popping in to have a look. Appreciate the visit.
I hope you will play along with us in our pink challenge. And please hop over to the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog and take a look at the fabulous creations of the other DT gals and get inspired. Have a wonderful week. And go create!

Sweet Wishes
Just a short posting here. Almost forgot to show you this. This is a card front that I made for Diana featuring the Mini Magnolias. I was doing this at the same time that I was doing the card for the current challenge at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog, so I was in my purple-and-yellow mode...LOL.
By the way, there's still a couple of days left to enter the challenge. This one is a long one--just by the way the Tuesdays fall on the calendar, this time it's for a 3-week period rather than the usual 2 weeks. Details and to enter here.
I've used a couple of Tilda images from the You Are So Special Collection 2011: Tilda with Balloon and Tilda with Big Ribbon. They are available from Magnolia-licious on-line store.
The colouring was done with markers. Hmm...I'm thinking I'll probably have an easier time with coloured pencils with these mini stamps.

You Make Me Smile, Sunshine - Guest DT Card
Woo-hoo...I am a Guest DT at Top Tip Tuesday for a couple of their challenges. I am so jazzed about joining the ladies at Top Tip Tuesday because I think I am their very first Guest DT. I feel sooo... honored. I'd like to thank Leanne for giving me this opportunity.
For this week, the theme for their Challenge 37 is: More Than One Fold. I've made a front-panel side step card. I think this is my next favorite type of card, after the easel card.
I would like to use this card as my entry into the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Challenge 12 - Lace
Magnolia Stamp Lover Challenge - Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes - Challenge 72 - Let's get sentimental
Crafts and Me - Challenge 37 - Punch it out!
Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 167 - Embellish it!
Paper Play Challenges - Week 22 - Summer Citrus Splash
Just Magnolia hAnglar & sTanglar - Week 110 - Anything Goes with the option of adding Lace

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 155 - Here comes Summer
This adorable Magnolia image that I have used for this card is of Running Tilda and she is from the Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011. This stamp is available from Magnolia-licious on-line store.
I am still in my coloured pencil mode, so I have coloured this with my mixture of Prismacolour, Faber-Castell and Derwent pencils. Up to now, I have been experimenting using odourless solvent(or some people use mineral spirit or gamsol) with my coloured pencils, but this time I wanted to try the colourless blender pencil. I think I find this more to my liking. I will have to practice more to be sure...LOL.
If you're familiar with my work, you know that I luvvv... to decorate the inside of my cards (hee hee...when I have the time, that is). I've added another sentiment and another set of images here.
Both the sentiments on the front and in the inside of my card are computer generated. I've used a mini Magnolia stamp here called Mini Sitting Angel Tilda, also available from Magnolia-licious.
She's just so adorable that she's my favorite from the Merry Little Christmas Collection 2010, or rather the full-size version is...LOL.
That's it for me. Thanks so much for dropping by. I appreciate your visit. Have a wonderful week.

Christmas in June
My Christmas card inventory is very very low...LOL. My plan to do at least one Christmas card per month just isn't happening. So I thought I'd try to catch up a bit here.
I'm also in the mood for practicing more with my coloured pencils, so that's what I've used with this Christmas card.
A new Christmas Challenge Blog, Christmas Challenges (with sketches), provided me with a wonderful sketch by Janneke. This card is for their very first Challenge.
Other challenges

Thanks so much for dropping by. Your visit is very much appreciated. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
