To love and be loved

Hello!

It's the 4th Tuesday of July--I can't believe it's already the last week in July!--which means it's time for our inspiration challenge a the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. This is my DT card.

This is the picture that Linda has chosen for the inspiration challenge.

This picture had me thinking of a square card of lots and lots of white, with red trims, a love theme, an image of a couple and a touch of blue somewhere.

This was just the perfect challenge as I needed to make a wedding card for a co-worker of mine who is getting married in September. Woo-hoo...so now at least I have something to give her.

I've made this an easel card, of course. I so love this style of card--such an easy way to put your card on display.

The adorable couple is a Magnolia image called Loving Bridal Couple from the Wedding Collection 2010. This image/stamp is available at Magnolia-licious on-line store HERE.

Because I was trying to keep this card mostly white, I didn't use any designer paper. So...lots of textures and 3-D stuff!!! I made use of my embossing folders--which I tend to ignore...LOL, punches and dies.

I hope you will join us in our inspiration challenge. Please visit the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog to have a look at the fabulous cards of my DT teamates and for more inspirations. Links to their personal blogs are on my sidebar also. There is also the prize of a $25.00 gift certificate from Magnolia-licious on-line store.

As for me, LOL, I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 90 - Punch or Die
Magnolia Down Under - Challeng #106 - Use Paper Tole or 3D on your card/project
Sir Stampalot - July Challenge - Anything Goes
7 Kids College Fun - Challenge #26 - Textures

That's it for now. Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I very much appreciate your visit and your encouraging comments. Enjoy your day!

Materials and tools used:

Tools: Spellbinders Heart Circles and Rose Creations dies, Magnolia Doohickey Swirl die, Nellie Snellen Leaf punch and embosser, Martha Stewart Rose Leaf and Large Lace Scallopped Heart punches, Cuttlebug Heart Blocks and Oriental Weave embossing folders, Sizzix Love Set embossing folder.

Misc. : Recollections and Mark Richards half-pearl stickers, lace from my stash.

Lazy Summer Day Picnic - Summer Bash Blog Hop

Hello.

I am participating in a blog hop...woo-hoo. The Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog DT are joining the Magnolia-licious Highlites DT in their Summer Bash Blog Hop. Details on how to play and win the fabulous prizes can be found at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog HERE.

We were asked to create a summertime card/project with one of the following themes:
Beach Bash, Summer Barbecues/Picnics or Fishing Fun!

I went with the picnic theme and this is my Lazy Summer Day Picnic card. I call this type of card a 3-easel card.

Now, the story behind this card is the Tilda gang have decided to go on a picnic on a lazy summer day and everybody assumed that somebody else will bring the picnic blanket/quilt. Of course nobody did...LOL...so they are having their picnic sitting on the grass underneath the old oak tree.

I think I went a bit too ambitious using all these Magnolia images...LOL. All the images/stamps I used here are available for your purchase at Magnolia-licious on-line store.

- Relaxing Tilda from the Magnolia and Lilac Collection 2008

I've dotted the paper with glue and sprinkled green flocking to make it look like grass. I hardly ever work with flocking, but I thought this might work.

I've altered a couple of Magnolia images here:

- Tilda with Spring Bundle from the Hoppy Easter Collection 2010 -- I replaced the spring flower bundle with a bottle of wine.
- Vintage Tilda from the Merry Little Christmas Collection 2010 -- I replaced the Christmas tree ornament with a watermelon.
- Log from the Autumn and Halloween Collection 2008

- Tilda on Elbows from the Easter & Spring Collection 2007
- Sweetie Tilda from the Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011
- Old Oak Tree from the Summer and Sea Collection 2008

I've altered a couple more images...LOL...can you tell I love doing this!...hee hee.
- Wilma With Rose from the Raising the Ceiling & Right Through My Heart Collection 2010 -- Wilma had to let go of the rose in her mouth because she managed to grab some sausages from someone's picnic.
- Gingerbread Tilda from the Merry Little Christmas Collection 2010 -- I replaced the gingerbread hearts with a couple of baguettes.

A Red, White and Blue Christmas

Hello. Happy Tuesday!
It's time for a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. Our colour challenge for July has been chosen by Linda, this month's hostess, and she has chosen the colours red, white and blue.

This is the time that I say to myself that I should get serious about making Christmas cards--after all, Christmas is less than 6 months away, right?...LOL. 'Christmas in July' is a very popular theme and it seemed to me that last year almost every challenge blog had this as its theme sooner or later...LOL...didn't you think so? So here's a Christmas-in-July card.

This is one of my favorite stamps from the A Merry Little Christmas Collection 2010. She is called Tilda in Winter Light. She is usually available from Magnolia-licious on-line store, however I see that it is currently not in stock, so if you want this stamp, please contact Diana. This image is also available in the mini version and that one is in stock.

I'm switching back and forth between markers and coloured pencils as I love them both. The images on this card were coloured with coloured pencils.

Here's a list of the challenges that I am entering with this card:

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar Week 114 - A sketch by Jane
Creat4Fun - 88th Challenge - July Sketch
Totally Tilda - Challenge #26 - Distressing

Going Grey With Scrap-Creations - Recipe Challenge (2 Dp's, 2 embellishments)
Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 172 - Lace
Challenge Up Your Life - Challenge #47 - 1 die, 1 lace , 1 brad

I'm trying to show all the glitter that I've put on this card...and all over my craft room...LOL. I took the picture at an angle where I thought the light was reflected back from the glitter. Hmm...I don't know if you can tell. I've added the glitter to the white trim of Tilda's winter coat and hood, the swirls, the snowflakes and the light from the lantern.

Here's a view of the inside of the card. I've added Tilda with Hanging Star from the same A Merry Little Christmas Collection 2010.

I think that's it!--nothing more to add. I hope you will join us in our colour challenge. Please visit the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog to have a look at the fabulous cards of my DT teamates and for more inspirations. Or links to their personal blogs are on my sidebar also.

Thanks for dropping by. As always, your visit is much appreciated. Have a wonderful day and take care!
