Warm Wishes - Magnolia-licious 'White On White'

If you're looking for the Magnolia-licious Holiday Blog Hop, click HERE.

Hello.

We're midway in our current 'White On White' challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog.  It's Team B's turn to post our cards/projects as a midway reminder--Team A posted theirs last week.   Visit the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog for complete details on the challenge and how you can join in the fun.  And have a look at what my DT teammates have created to inspire you.

I have created a shadow box card.

I love making white-on-white cards--it's another favorite style of mine...hmm, I have many faves!  One reason is because I don't have to spend time searching for co-ordinating paper for a colour scheme...ha ha--it takes me forever to do this.  And all those whites make the coloured images you're featuring pop out.

Tutorial on the pine cones you can find HERE.

Here are close-ups of the Magnolia images I've used:

- Tilda on the Roof from the A Christmas Story Collection 2012

- Mini A Joyful Tilda from the Winter Wonderland Collection 2013
- Mini Show The Way Baby Rudolph from the Winter Wonderland Collection 2013

- Old Swedish Church from the A Christmas Story Collection 2012
I used this image to help me create the background scene.

Magnolia stamps are available from Magnolia-licious, Diana's on-line store where she carries a large selection of both full-size and mini Magnolia stamps.  And if you don't see the particular one you are looking for, ask Diana if she can bring it in for you.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly...

Fa la la la la la la.....
I was thinking of that Christmas song when I was making this card...LOL. This is my DT card for the November inspiration challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog.

The card was inspired by the picture below that Pat has chosen for the inspiration challenge. Oh, it's such a gorgeous picture. It should put you into a Christmas-cardmaking mood, so come and join us in our challenge!

My card is a shadow box card. Here are a couple of shots from different angles.

Two Magnolia beauties from the Sweet Christmas Dreams Collection 2011. that I have used for my card:

This one is called Holly Tilda

and this second one is of Glittering Tilda.

Both stamps are available from Magnolia-licious, Diana's on-line store, a fabulous source of everything Magnolia (stamps--full-size and mini version, doohickey die cuts)and excellent services along with discounts and store credits. Check it out HERE!

I have taken a picture of the card from above to show you the 'box' feature of this shadow box card.

And the sides can be folded in an accordion way so that you can reduce it to a flatter card that measures 6'' x 6" and will fit into your envelope.

A few challenges that I would like to enter with this card:
Papertake Weekly Challenge – Christmas Crackers or If It’s Festive Then It’s Fine

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Happy Saturday everyone!

Oh yeaay! It's the 25th of the month and time for another Christmas card. The Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group has a group called the Christmas All Year Long Group, and we are to create and post a Christmas card on the 25th of each month. I'm appreciating this group more and more now that we're getting closer and closer to Christmas (only 3 more months, people!) Because now when I look back, I see that I've got a number of Christmas cards in my collection already and I'm closer to my goal than I would be without this Group. So, thanks to Julie, who thought up the idea and organizes our group.

If you're taking part in this September blog hop and have come here from Monique's blog, then you are in the right place. And if you want to start, the beginning and a list of the participants is at the Christmas All Year Long Group's Blog here.

My card is what I like to call a white-on-white card. Except for the central image, everything is white. I have chosen this image of 'Bon Voyage Tilda' from the Magnolia Bon Voyage Collection 2010 as the focus of my card.

I have used 2 other Magnolia stamps to create the scene, 'Winter Night Background' from the Winter Collection 2008 (for the background scene) and 'Winter Forest' from the Santa Collection 2008 (for the 2 trees in front). Any of the Magnolia stamps can be purchased from Magnolia-licious on-line store and if Diana doesn't have it in stock, she will order it in for you.

I wanted to keep everything white, not even showing the black ink from the stamp pad. I stamped several images of each stamp on white cardstock and cut out all the little pieces. I turned the cutouts over so the stamped images were face down and then glued the pieces together to create the scene. Oh, I gave the little cutouts some curl to give a bit of added dimension to the picture. And then I added some micro-fine glitter here and there. So the final scene is a mirror image of the stamped image.

I am entering this card in a few challenges:
Colour Create - Challenge 54 - All White.
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 122 - Anything Goes.
Charisma Cardz - Challenge # 38 - Anything Goes!
Thanks for the taking the time to drop by. I appreciate your visit very much. Now, to continue with the blog hop, your next blog visit is at Peggie's.

Have a wonderful weekend! And if you haven't started on you Christmas cards yet, what are you waiting for? Get started!!! It's only 3 months away, you know...yikes!!!

Stamps: Magnolia Tilda from the Bon Voyage Collection 2010, Winter Night Background from the Winter Collection 2008, Winter Forest from the Santa Collection2008. The sentiment is computer generated.
Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilties Labels Two, McGill holly punch.
Miscellaneous: micro-fine glitter cool highlights, Mark Richards pearls.

Tilda, what ya doing?

Happy first day of December! Can't believe we're into December already. Where did the rest of the months go?

So, lots and lots of Christmas cards from now on. Here's one more. Another story to go with this card... hee, hee. This is Big Sis looking for Little Sis Tilda, who just can't wait to see what Santa has brought her.

So, this card is for all the challenges with a Christmas-theme challenges:

Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group December home page challenge.

Stamp With Fun Challenge 35 - X-mas.

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 80 - Non Tradional Christmas Colours.

This simple sketch from Mojo Monday Week 115 challenge is just perfect.

This is a shadow box card. Suzanne gave me the link to the tutorial for it. And as I usually ended up doing, I altered the measurements to suit my card. Here’s the link: shadow-box-card tutorial. This is just one of them--I’m sure there are many others out there.

The 2 images of Tilda I used here are from Magnolia’s So Jolly& Under the Mistletoe 2009 Collection: Christmas Morning Tilda and Unwrapped Tilda.

The clock is actually from a clear-stamp image of a stopwatch. Sorry, I don’t know who makes the stamp as I threw away the package it came in. I bought the stamp set a long time ago before I started blogging and knew that I’m supposed to be keeping those kind of details.

The mini calendar I made with the help of my laptop and printer. I printed the “DEC” and the numbers 25 to 31, inclusive. I cut them out in little rectangles and distressed the edges of each a bit. I glued the numbers together at the top to bind them into a booklet. Then glued that on black cardstock and arrange the month on top.

I wanted to see Tilda sitting in front of a Christmas tree, but I wanted a more 3-dimensional tree, rather than just a stamped image. This is how I did my tree—very easy.

The shape of my tree is weird because it’s not the entire tree, but only the bottom left corner of the tree, I punched out lots and lots of twigs—more than pictured here—and I just glued them onto the tree shape. Added blings and pearls for the tree ornaments.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day!
