Showers of Blessings

Hello.

Happy November, everyone!  Can you believe it's November already?  Yikes!  It feels like it was just yesterday that summer ended, but we're already in the middle of the autumn season.

Rain is the norm for November here, so I thought this adorable image is the perfect image for my card.

And the inside of my card is almost always decorated also...

The two Magnolia cuties being feautured are:

- London Tilda from the Little London Collection 2013

- Tilda With Daffodil Basket from the Little Easter Collection 2013

The stamps for the above two adorable Tilda's are available from Magnolia-licious, Diana's on-line store where she carries a large selection of other Magnolia stamps--both full-size and mini.  And if you don't see the particular one you are looking for, ask Diana if she can bring it in for you.  Check out also the stamps from Wee Stamps, Wild Rose Studios, Penny Black and Candibeans

And don't overlook the cutting dies from various companies like Impression Obsession, Penny Black, Magnolia Doohickey, Poppy Stamps, Memory Box and others...like the one that I used on this card:
Memory Box 98634 Gwyneth Flourish, a gorgeous flourish that I sort of almost covered all up on the card front...LOL, but you can see the design inside my card.

An Early Thanksgiving Peek-A-Boo Card

Hello.

I've been glued to my TV watching the Olympic Games!!! My card-making have been slightly ignored...LOL.  Have finally managed to get this one done.  I've been working on it for several days.

This is a peek-a-boo card.  My first!!!  I saw Dawn's video tutorial on YouTube, HERE, for a smaller-sized card.  Using the same concept, I've been trying to create a 6" x 6" card.  Revising her measurements wasn't as easy as I thought.  I've attempted a card a few times--and discarded them...LOL--before I had one that I can show you.  This is how my card finally turned out.

I'm still not quite happy about it--specifically the size of my window.  I made the window a little bit too big than what I'm comfortable with--it's too close to the edge of the card.  I made the opening so wide because I didn't want to cut off the image.  In the future, I will choose narrower images.
This is Tilda With Corn from Magnolia's Turning Leaves Collection 2012

Magnolia stamps are available from Magnolia-licious on-line store.  Diana has both full-size and mini stamps.  Check out also the selection of cutting dies from Memory Box, PoppyStamps, Magnolia doohickey, Marianne Design and Cheery Lynn, as well as other crafting tools.

This peek-a-boo card is what I call a mechanical card.  As you open the card, the first image is replaced by second image.  This is how it works...

This is so cool.  I think this is going to be one of my fave type of cards.  A very fun card to play with--just opening and closing, opening and closing...LOL.

The card looks like this from the top.

To match the first Tilda image and in keeping with the harvest and/or Thanksgiving theme, this second image is just perfect.  This is Tilda With Carrots, also from the Turning Leaves Collection 2012.   Both of the images here were coloured with markers.

I am going to make another peek-a-boo card, but this time with a narrower window. Will see how that works out--will be better, I think.

Harvest Plenty

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all you (us) folks in Canada! Happy Columbus Day to you all south of the border! And to the rest, Happy Today!

I've put together this card to celebrate Thanksgiving.

I had the following challenges in mind when I was making this card:

Papertake Weekly is having their 3rd birthday blog hop and their challenge is to choose your favorite challenge from the past 3 years. I've chosen their September 8, 2008 Challenge - Autumn Haze.
Charisma Cardz - Challenge 40 - autumn colours.
Just Magnolia - Week 76 - 2 x 2 challenge, things in pairs. I have used 2 Tilda images, 2 designer papers, 2 sentiments.
Friday Sketchers - Challenge 123 - Bea's wonderful sketch. You can see her sketch on her blog here.
Stamping for the Weekend - Challenge 48 - autumn inspiration.

The 2 images from Magnolia is called Tilda Picking Peaches and Peachy Tilda. They are both from the A Little Yummy for Your Tummy Collection 2009. I thought the two images go well with the sentiments I wanted to use and they all fit the occasion perfectly. You can get these adorable Tildas from Diana from her on-line store, Magnolia-licious.
I have made this into a gate card to accommodate the 2 images and sentiments. They won't all fit on the front of the card!

I had coloured these 2 Tildas during my summer vacation. I was mindful of the weight I had to carry in my backpack, so what I had brought with me were a few markers to do the skintones--I like doing faces best with my markers--and a partial set of my Prismacolour pencils to colour the rest. These are 2 that I managed to get done. I thought I would have more time playing around with my Prismas, but as it turned out...not so much. Plus good lighting is very important, which was not always available.

That's it for now. Enjoy the rest of your day. Thanks so much for dropping by. I appreciate you taking the time to visit.

Stamps: Peachy Tilda, Tilda Picking Peaches and Peach Branch from Magnolia's A Little Yummy for Your Tummy Collection 2009, sentiments from Inkadinkadoo clear stamp set Harvest Expressions.
DP's: Chatterbox Scrapbook Walls Collection Tangerine Pinwheels, Recollections Monkeying Around Collection Banana Leaf.
Tools: Martha Stewart edge punch Woodland branch.
Embellishments: Recollections pearls.
