Peace, Love & Joy - FFFC #227 'Christmas/New Year'

Hello.  Happy Friday!

We're starting off our last challenge at the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge blog.  The theme for the final challenge is 'Christmas/New Year.'  I hope you'll be able to join us.

For this challenge, I've created a tunnel card.

The aim of a tunnel card is to create a 3-dimensional scene inside the card, creating an illusion of depth.

It's made up from a number of frames.  You can have as many frames as you want, but I've settled on having 5 frames.  (The bare trees were all cut out by hand as I had to have them in increasing/decreasing sizes--no dies for these! sigh)

The frames are attached to two folded accordion strips of paper, one on each side.

I've turned the back panel into another frame inserted with a piece of vellum paper.  My intention was to position a lit LED tea candle behind the back of the card and...

I wanted to be able to see the glow of the candle through the vellum so it looks like the lantern is glowing.

Cool, eh?

The two side flaps are really the front covers for the card.  I've put a magnetic disc between the folded layers of each flap so they can snap together when one flap is brought over the other.

The card, when closed, is only 1/4 inch high.

A closer look at the adorable image being featured.

This stamped imaged from Magnolia Stamps...

is called 'Midwinter Tilda' from their Sweet Christmas Dreams Collection 2011.
I've coloured Tilda with my alcohol-ink markers and also coloured pencils.

That's it or me!  Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your day, have a wonderful weekend and, like the sentiments on my card, have a holiday season filled with Peace, Love and Joy!

Warm Winter Wishes - FFFC #221 'White on White'

Hello.

We've got a new challenge at the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge today.  Our new theme is 'White on White (with a splash of colour).'  Love this theme as I don't have to think about co-ordinating colours and designer papers...hee hee.  Don't forget to hop over to Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge blog for details and to check out what my teammates have created to inspire you to join us.

Here's what I've created for this challenge theme.  I made a frame card.

A closer look at image being featured here.

This cutie is from a stamp called 'Snowy Tilda' from Magnolia Stamps, from their 'A Christmas Story Collection 2012.'
I've coloured her with my makers (alcohol-ink based) and coloured pencils also.  I've fussy cut the image.  On her right palm, I've put a punched snowflake that have been covered with glitter.

That's it for me for now.   A short and sweet posting...he he.  Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate the visit.  Enjoy the rest of your day and have a wonderful weekend!

Warmest of Wishes

Hello.

I've made a frame card for my latest Christmas/winter card.

I started out by making this a white-on-white card, but I decided to place a blue backgroud to make all the white features pop out.  And then placed the coloured image against the white background to make itself pop out. I love doing white-on-white though because I find it easier when I don't have to worry about co-ordinating colours...hee hee.

I created the scene with lots of die-cuts.  I just luvvv die-cuts.  Can you tell I'm an addict?

I added glitter to the snow on the ground, the fur trim on her hood and the lantern windows--don't know if you can see the glitter.

A closer look at the image being featured.

This cutie is called Swiss Pixie Through The Night from C.C. Designs.  It's an oldie-but-goodie stamp.  I had stamped, coloured (with markers) and cut her out what-must-have-been a couple of years ago, but never got around to putting her on a card until now.

Hello.

We're midway in our current 'White On White' challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog.  It's Team B's turn to post our cards/projects as a midway reminder--Team A posted theirs last week.   Visit the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog for complete details on the challenge and how you can join in the fun.  And have a look at what my DT teammates have created to inspire you.

I have created a shadow box card.

I love making white-on-white cards--it's another favorite style of mine...hmm, I have many faves!  One reason is because I don't have to spend time searching for co-ordinating paper for a colour scheme...ha ha--it takes me forever to do this.  And all those whites make the coloured images you're featuring pop out.

Tutorial on the pine cones you can find HERE.

Here are close-ups of the Magnolia images I've used:

- Tilda on the Roof from the A Christmas Story Collection 2012

- Mini A Joyful Tilda from the Winter Wonderland Collection 2013
- Mini Show The Way Baby Rudolph from the Winter Wonderland Collection 2013

- Old Swedish Church from the A Christmas Story Collection 2012
I used this image to help me create the background scene.

And so.  For my Blog Hop project, I have created this Advent Calendar.

What I have done with the little boxes is to put the dates in December before Christmas on one side and then on the other side I've placed some letters.

So each day in December, you pull out the day's box, take the goodies out (yummy), turn it around and put it back in with the letter showing.  Oh, and eat the chocolate of course.  By December 25, you will have a holiday phrase--similar to what you're doing in this Blog Hop, except you don't have to unscramble it yourself...tee hee.

I made the numbers--printed, coloured, added glitter, cut out, etc.--but I was running out of time, so I bought some alphabet sticker sets at my local dollar store.  As you can see, I ran out the capital 'S'...arghh.

Challenges I am entering with this project:
Crafty Calendar Challenge - All Things Christmas
Designed To Color Challenge #23 - Christmas/Wiinter
