Easter Greetings - Magnolia-licious 'CAS'

To enter your name in the draw for my 5th Blogoversary Candy, click HERE.

Hello.

We're midway in our current 'Clean and Simple' challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog.   We want to see cards/projects with limited embellishments and decorations--less is more!  Today it's Team B's turn to post our DT cards/projects for your inspiration.  Hop over to the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog to get complete details of the challenge and how you can join in the fun.  Don't forget to check out my DT teammates' fabulous projects/cards while you're there.

CAS is definitely not my style!  I love my embellishments--flowers, diecuts, pearls, etc.  And I must confess that I usually end up adding embellisments to my CAS cards before mailing them off.  I simply can't force myself to send any card of mine so bare...tee hee.

Anyway,  here is my CAS card--simple layout and clean of embellishments.

And you know that I simply can't leave the inside of my card undecorated, so I did worked on it but still keeping it CAS also--we're talking layout here...hee hee.

I admit that both images I used here are not what you call 'simple', but if you replace them with whatever you want, toppers or simply stamped images, then it fits the CAS bill don't you think?...ha ha

I did some masking to create the scene on the front of my card.  The two Magnolia images I used here are:

- Tilda With Her Rabbit from the Special Moments Collection 2013
- Tilda's Heart Flowers from the Sweet Crazy Love Collection 2012

And for the inside of the card, I drew a Zentangle egg below this Tilda image.  (Oh, the Tilda's Heart Flowers image above have been tangled also.)

- Frizzy Tilda from the Sea Breeze Collection 2013

You can find the three stamps I used on this card at Magnolia-licious on-line store, where you can also find other equally adorable Magnolia images--both full size and mini.  And if you don't see the particular one you are looking for, ask Diana if she can bring it in for you.  Check out also the stamps from Wee Stamps, Wild Rose Studios, Penny Black and CandibeansMagnolia-licious also carries cutting dies from various companies including Memory BoxPoppyStamps, Magnolia Doohickey.
Prices are discounted, you get excellent customer service and what's more, you get to earn 2% credit to be applied to future purchases.  Cool!

Challenges for this card:
Crafts Galore Encore Challenge #3 - Use a stamp or digi stamp

Hoppy Spring - In2stamps April Challenge

Hello! Oops, I am a bit late with this posting.

Happy April! A new month! That means a new challenge at In2stamps. The theme for April is...Spring. The prize is 16 sheets Marianne Design Eline's Vintage patterned papers and three In2stamps stamps of your choice. You can find out all the details for the challenge here at the In2stamps Challenge Blog and also check out the wonderful creations of the other DT members. This is my card for the challenge.

I've chosen this Flower Bunny from the Get Well Collection. And this is the funny part... It's simply because I found this sentiment stamp that says 'Hoppy Spring' and I wanted to use that for the card. The only image I could think of that would match the sentiment is our resident bunny here. I've used her before as a Valentine bunny. Now she is playing the role of the white Easter bunny...hee hee...she is very versatile. Isn't that a hoot, though! Usually it's the other way around--you choose your image first and then find whatever sentiment will go with it...LOL. It was a lucky find for me too, as it only cost me $1.50 at Michaels. I've punch out a tiny circle from white felt and glued that on the bunny's tail to give it a bit of fluff--I think you can only see if you magnify the picture.

With spring finally arriving--and yes, it's really Spring here!--I see a lot of clematis vines flowering around me and that gave me the idea of using it on my card. Or rather that's what I was trying to create. I love clematis.

Also, I wanted to connect the top/front of the card to the bottom section of the easel card, so I've used the flowering vine to do that. I've also made it so that even when you lay the card flat, the vine design also continues. Well, I really like how this has turned out. Me thinks...LOL...I will do this vine thing again...and again...

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you've enjoyed your weekend. Woohoo for me, I get an extra day off tomorrow--more time for crafting!

Stamps: In2stamps Bunny with Flower Bunny from the Get Well Collection, Crafts Mart sentiment stamp 'Hoppy Spring' from Michaels $1.50 bin.
DP: Art Impressions Green Ivy.
Tools: EK Success border punch, EK Success small retro flower punch, flower centre punch from Michaels $1.50 bin, Punch Bunch leaf punch.
Misc.: Recollections pearl stickers.

Daffodil Tilda

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. Happy today to all! And Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate Easter.

Here's an Easter card I made using a few Magnolia images.

This is Tilda with Flower in Her Hair and she is sitting on the Spring Fence. Both are from the 2010 Hoppy/Spring Collection. And at the left, directing you to the egg hunt..hee hee, I think it is called Butterfly Sign--not sure which collection this one is from. All of these images you can get from Magnolia-licious. I've come to the opinion that this fence was made especially for this Tilda image, because the daffodil in Tilda's hair matches the daffodils at the fence.

I have used the sketch that Claudia has created for the Magnolia-licious Highlites April sketch challenge. I've rotated the sketch by 90 degrees.

Here's a list of other challenges that I'm entering with this card:
Flutter By Wednesday - Challenge #103
Papertake Weekly - Challenge #38 - Open theme

Passion for Promarkers Week 45 - Use 2 images on your project. Hmm....I think I may be disqualified for this one as I have 3 images. Oh well, I'll give it a try anyway.

Simon Says - It's so distressing. I've used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad Vintage Photo to distress the edges of my paper and Broken China to distress my butterflies.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 106 - It's so Egg-citing!
Roses on Paper - Challenge 34 - Punch It!
Everybody-Art-Challenge #84 - Spring
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge #7 - Easter
All That Scraps - Spring Bling

And I just prettied up the inside of the card simply this way.

Enjoy the rest of your long weekend.

Stamps: Magnolia Tilda with Flower in Her Hair, Spring Fence, Butterfly Sign.
DP's: Basic Grey Wisteria Cornflower and Tea Lights.
Tools: Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly and small butterfly punches, Coluzzle oval template, Marvy Uchida scallop oval punch.
Misc.: Flower Soft lavender, Mark Richards crystal stickers clear bling.

easter greetings

I have created this Easter card using this Easter chick image that Jolanda has sent me from her shop, Cards Etc. Shop. Isn't it just adorable?

Jolanda is from the Netherlands. She has started her own on-line shop. She sells her own Digi Stamps and Cuttingfiles…

Digi Stamps – printable stamps to resize, print and colour
Cuttingfiles - files in SVG or Scut format to cut with your Cricut (Expression) using the 'Sure Cuts a Lot' or 'Make The Cut' software! – bags and boxes and shaped cards.

All these files are downloads, so no shipping costs and no waiting for the mail carrier!
And you can pay with PayPal. You can hop over to Jolanda’s store here.

I wanted to use both images on the same card, so I decide to do a gate fold card. I went looking through the current challenges and found this sketch at Sketch Saturday.

While searching through the challenges, I also found the following challenges that I can use this card as my entry to:

Stamp With Fun -- Challenge #51 - Easter
Stamping for the Weekend -- Challenge #35 - Easter
A Spoon Full of Sugar -- Challenge 95 - Easter
Allsorts -- Week 44 Spring is in the Air
Secret Crafter Saturday -- Challenge 75 - Spring has Sprung
Crafty Catz -- Challenge # 24 - Spring
The second image is of course for the inside of the card.

That's it for today. Thanks for visiting. Appreciate you dropping by. Enjoy your day!

Stamps: Digi stamps from Card Etc. Shop. Sentiment is computer generated.
DP's: Chatterbox Scrapbook Walls violet dahlias and light parlor stripe. I don't know the make of the ochre-coloured paper--not writing on the back.
Tools: Martha Stewar border punch rings, Marvy Uchida scallop circle punch, Colluzle circle template.
Misc.: Reflections half pearls.

Happy Easter #2

Happy Friday.

I am one lucky girl. I got an e-mail from Bec at Bizzy Becs. My name was one of two that she drew for her Male Card Challenge. Woohoo! So she is sending me a prize pack. Thanks very much, Bec. I'm feeling a bit guilty that she has to send it half-way around the world (not by much though). Wouldn't it be great if she can just say "beam it up, Scotty!" LOL.

This next card is for Magnolia Down Under Challenge #5. This week's theme is Easter. This one was a challenge as I don't have a Tilda stamp from the Magnolia's Easter collection. Had to improvise. Decided to use the giggling Tilda that I used the last time (to match the grin on my face--hee, hee). I have a pageful of giggling Tilda images now--LOL. I have been trying to arrange my postings so you don't see the same image twice in a row. Only have a limited number of Magnolia stamps. (I have ordered more, including some from the new Butterfly Collection. Ooooh, they are so cute, I can't wait!)

I have no egg-shape template, so had to draw and cut out the Easter egg by hand. Hmmm...the egg looks a bit pointy at the top, but honest, that's the shape of the egg I actually got out of the fridge to draw from--LOL. I already made an Easter card with a Tilda sitting on an egg. This time I have Tilda sitting at a hole in the egg, like in a Faberge egg.

I made this more 3-dimensional than usual, by first putting the egg on foam tape and then again the Tilda image on double foam tape.

On an aside subject of my colouring. Kristy has asked me what I use to do my colouring. I used markers. But not Copic markers which seems to be the preferable markers used by everyone. I use a combination of Pantone Tria markers (by Letraset) and Touch markers (by ShinHan). I had started my marker collection before Copic markers were widely sold locally or that I was even aware they even existed. Our local art store was having a huge clearance sale on these--they were practically giving them away. The price was under $2 each at the time. Simply couldn't pass up on the bargain. The companies that make them were introducing their new versions of markers and discontinuing the ones I bought--so clearance time! My markers are also alcohol-ink based used by illustrators and manga artists, and I think they’re suppose to work the same way as the Copic markers in terms of colour blending. I can’t attest to that as I’ve never used Copics. I don’t know if they work as well as the Copic markers, probably not—you know what they: you get what you pay for. But they also say: you don’t miss what you’ve never had. So, I make do with what I have. Okay, okay, that’s probably TMI--LOL.

Stamp: Magnolia #285 Giggling Tilda
DP's: Chatterbox Sky Lilac and Sky Bias Stripe

Happy Easter

A good Saturday morning!

Here's my Happy Easter card. I made this one for Diana's March challenge at Magnolia-licous using the sketch provided.

Here's Diana's sketch:Took artistic licence and substituted the oval with and an Easter egg-- neat huh?--LOL. I used my circle and oval Coluzzle templates to cut out the egg. One side is half a circle, the other side is half an oval.
I'm using what I consider to be Easter colours here, purple and yellow. Does the purple look bluish to you though? Hmmm...it really is purple. I'm hoping it's just due to the lighting and not my camera.

Much to do today, so signing off now. Bye.

Stamp: Magnolia #244 Flower Jeans Sitting Tilda, Inkadinkado 97632 Sketchy Flourishes
Designer Papers: Anna Griffin, Chatterbox

PS. okay, so I did something that took away that "comment" word where you can click to leave comments. I'll have to figure out how to put it back on. Yikes! Haven't got a clue.
