Life is like a Butterfly...

Hello.  Happy Tuesday!

We're midway in our current challenge at the Magnolia-licious and Wee Stamps Challenge Blog.  It's all about BUTTERFLIES--your card/project needs to have butterflies (dragonflies qualify also).  You have one more week to join the challenge. This week is Magnolia-licious Team B's turn to show our inspirational cards/projects--last week was Team A's.

I was already working on a new card for this butterfly challenge when during a rare cleaning spree...LOL...I came upon this card.  It's a double display card that I made a while back--for a magazine submission, I think.  However, it never made it into publication...sigh.  I had put the card aside and simply forgot about it.  So I've decided to use this card now as it's never been posted...and woo-hoo...it fits the theme of the challenge!

This was also one of occasions when I play around with my coloured pencils.  My pencil collection is a mishmash of different brands--Faber-Castell Polychromos and Artgrips, Derwent Softcolours and Prismacolor Premiers.  And when I colour I mix and match whatever will give me the shades that I want.

The three Magnolia images here are all from the Butterfly Dreams Collection 2012--I luvvv that collection.

These two adorable images are Hello Little Butterfly and Tilda with Straw Hat

and this one is Edwin with Butterfly.

Check out Diana's on-line store, Magnolia-licious--an excellent source for your Magnolia stamps, both full-size and mini stamps. If you don't see the particular one you are looking for in the store, ask Diana if she can bring it in for you.
And newly released from Magnolia is the Special Moments Collection 2013.  Check it out HERE.  The images are oh-so-adorable!

The sentiments on the two panels read as follows...

They are from a Whimsy Stamps stamp set that I have, but the writings are way too small so I rewrote them on my computer.  You can also find this little poem on the internet--it says author unknown.

I made a point of not adding any embellishments that are 3-dimensional to the card, because I wanted to make a slip cover/sleeve for the card to keep it neatly folded for easier mailing...and storage.  Any 3-D embellishment would make it impossible for the card to slip through the sleeve opening.

Challenges I am entering with this card:
ABC Challenges for June - O is for Open (anything goes)
Marianne's Design Divas - Get Your Dies Out!
Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #47 - Make Your Mark! (2nd entry, this time pencils)
Flutter By Wednesday #242 - recipe: flowers, at least 1 butterfly and diecut/punch
As You Like It Challenge #3 - Favorite Stamp (My favorite stamps are from Magnolia and as I love butterflies, their Butterfly Dreams Collection is a fave of mine, especially Tilda with Straw Hat.)
Allsorts Challenge Week 209 - Here come the girls
Card Makin' Mamas CMM70 - Rubber Stamps
Joanna Sheen Challenge - Spot and/or Stripes
Loves Rubberstamps Challenge #55 - Anything Goes

That's all for today.  I'll be back tomorrow as it's another Wee Wednesday at the Magnolia-licious and Wee Stamps Challenge Blog and I'll be participating in that one.

Thanks so much for dropping by.  Appreciate the visit.  Have a wonderful day!

Edited--I've drawn up the templates for the card and sleeve and you can find them HERE.

Party like a Princess! - FFFC #90

Hello.

It's time for a new challenge at Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge Blog.  This fortnight challenge is hosted by the lovely Ivonne and she has chosen as the theme...Bling it on!.  For more details on the challenge and how to join in the fun, hop over to Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge. Check out the fabulous cards that my DT teammates have created for your inspirations.

So this is the card that I've created as my DT card.

I don't know why but I hardly use blings/rhinestones--I'm more into pearls.  But I think this time all that glitz works well with the princess theme and all.

The inside of my card is showing the pop-up book card feature.  I have made the template/tutorial for this type of card that you can find HERE if you're interested.

The two digital sentiments 'Party like a Princess' and 'you deserve the Royal treatment' are freebies from Create With TLC.  Thanks, Paulette.

The two adorable Magnolia images featured are both from the Once Upon A Time Collection 2013
I've coloured both images with my Letraset Promarker and Pantone Tria markers.

This first one is Princess Tilda With Curls

and the second one is called Little Cute Tilda.

Let It Snow!

Hello.  Happy Tuesday!

We're midway in our current challenge at the Magnolia-licious and Wee Stamps Challenge Blog where the theme is...WEATHER WAYS.  Show some kind of weather in your card/project--sunny, wintry, snowy, rainy, icy, cold, hot, foggy, etc.  You have one more week to join the challenge.  It's Magnolia-licious Team B's turn to show our cards/projects for you inspirations.

So I went with the wintry snowy weather...

I've done some masking work in the stamping of the two Magnolia images I used here.  The colouring was done with my Letraset Promarker and Pantone Tria markers.

The two images being featured are:
- Silent Night Tilda from the So Jolly & Under the Mistletoe Collection 2009
- Winter Fence from the Santa Collection 2008

Although this Tilda is an older Tilda, she is still one of my favorite Christmas images.

Check out Diana's on-line store, Magnolia-licious--an excellent source for your Magnolia stamps, both full-size and mini stamps. If you don't see the particular one you are looking for in the store, ask Diana if she can bring it in for you.

Believe - 3-Step Card 6"x6" - FFFC #88

Hello.  Happy Friday!

It's time for a new challenge at Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge Blog.  It's our Challenge #88 and is being hosted by the lovely May and for the theme she has chosen everyone's favorite...anything goes.  For more details on the challenge and how to join in the fun, hop over to Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge. Have a look also at the fabulous cards and projects that my DT teammates have created.  I hope they will inspire you to join us.

This is what I've created for my DT card.

A surprise in the inside!  I have made this into a 3-step card as you can see here.
I was trying to find an image and a sentiment to match ones on the card front.  Got this idea from Angela...thanks, Angela!

This is a different version of the step card than the ones I've made in the past (HERE and HERE).  When you first open the card, the stairs here are in front of you rather than facing to the right as in my previous cards.  The size of this card is 6" x 6".

I have used my Letraset Promarker and Pantone Tria markers to colour the images for this card.

I am using a background stamp from Magnolia as the main feature--
Waterlily Background from the Once Upon A Time Collection 2013
The Frog Prince is from a separate Magnolia stamp from their Jubilee Collection 2007--all coloured up, cut out and mounted on foam tape.

This is Tilda with Prince Froggy, also from Once Upon A Time Collection 2013.

Check out Diana's online store, Magnolia-licious--an excellent source for your Magnolia stamps, both full-size and mini stamps.  If you don't see the particular one you are looking for in the store, ask Diana if she can bring it in for you.
Also available now at Magnolia-licious are those adorable Wee Stamps by Sylvia Zet and also cutting dies from MagnoliaMemory Box, PoppyStamps.
Diana offers discounted prices, excellent customer service and you also get to earn 2% in-store credit with every purchase!

Template for 3-Step Card (6" x 6") - front facing

Hello.

This 3-step card (posted HERE) is bigger than the one I've made before--this is my usual size of 6" x 6".  Also I've added a little twist as the stairs are now facing you when you open the card, instead of to the side.

Here are the templates for the card base...

PDF template in inches HERE.
PDF template in centimetres HERE.

Decorate as desired.

I'm not doing a tutorial on this one, but am just supplying you with the templates, but you can refer to my tutorial for the smaller card HERE if you're not certain of where to cut, how to fold or where to apply glue.

Have fun!
