Hello and a Happy Tuesday to all!

(Sorry, I'm a bit late posting this card. I was running a bit behind in finishing the inside of my card.)

As this is the 4th Tuesday of the month, it's a new inspiration challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. This is my DT card.

For the month of March, Angela has chosen this picture to inspire you to create a card or a project for our challenge.

This adorable image that I have used for the front of my card is called Tilda Painting Egg. She is from Magnolia's Hoppy Easter Collection 2010. She is available from Diana Crick's Magnolia-licious online store.

Challenges for this card:

Challenge Up Your Life - Challenge 39 - Flip Flop Cards.

Creative Cottage - Challenge 35 - Spring has Sprung

Charisma Cardz - Challenge 11 - To Die For

My card is another flip flop or swing card--I liked doing the first one very much that I've decided to do another. This is only my 2nd flip flop card.
(Template for this 6"x6" card can be found in my first swing card posting.)

For the flip side of the centre panel, I've coloured up Hello! Tilda. She is also from the same Magnolia Easter collection as the first one above.

Okay, that's all! I'm making this posting really short.

Thanks for coming over. I appreciate your visit. Don't forget to check out the other DT's fabulous cards for further inspirations. You can click on their names on my side bar or hop over to the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. And I hope you will join our challenge too.

Easter Parade - Magnolia-licious Easter-Spring Extravaganza Contest Blog Hop

Woo-hooooo... Spring is finally here!!!

Happy Spring everybody! Hippity hop...hippity hop...Magnolia-licious has a Spring-Easter Blog Hop for you. This blog hop is to inspire you to be creative and enter the Magnolia-licious Easter-Spring Extravaganza Contest. The contest is being hosted at Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog. There you will also find the COMPLETE details and rules for the contest (the prizes will floor you, really!)...and have a peek at the entries that have already been submitted...LOL.

Moving on to the blog hop, if you've come here from Mindy's blog, then you're right on track. If you get lost and/or want to start at the beginning, click here to go to the Magnolia-licious Highlites for a list of the participants. And from here, your next stop is at Paola's.

There are 3 categories to the contest (you can submit one entry per catergory--3 chances to win!!!):

#1 - Full size Magnolia images on an Easter/Spring Themed Card.

#2 - 'Magnolia Minis Only' on an Easter/Spring Theme Card.

#3 - Any Magnolia Easter/Spring Project, anything BUT a card. My project falls under Category # 3.

I've been working on this for the past week and a half. Oh not full time of course, just a few hours at a time. It took me a while to get started though as I had a mind block and couldn't think of what to make for this blog hop. So I went net surfing looking for inspirations and found this 'Flower Cart' tutorial in the Scor-Pal website (this is a fabulous site with tons of tutorials) and then the ideas just start popping in my head.

So this a picture of my entire project--an EGG-stravaganza Easter Parade.....LOL. (Click on the picture to blow it up.)

Here are the close-ups...

I coloured this Tilda with Laced Flag (from Autumn Collection 2010) a few months ago, but haven't used her on a card. I thought she would be perfect to lead the Easter Parade. I needed some sort of vehicle to pull all the parade floats together. There is tutorial for a UPS delivery truck in the Scor-Pal website, but I didn't think that would do. So, I fiddled around with the measurements and made my own pick-up truck. You have to use your imagination--this is my super duper red pick-up truck able to pull all the six parade floats behind it...LOL...and pretend that all the floats are all hitched up together. This is Leaning Tilda in the truck. She is from the You Are So Special Collection 2011

The flower cart tutorial is super easy to do. And it took less time to decorate one cart than a card, because hallelujah, I don't have to try to match DP's--that usually takes me forever to do when I'm card-making. The only designer paper I used for this project is the wood pattern one to cover the sides of the carts. I'm making them wooden parade floats--hey, this is a country Easter parade...LOL.

This is special-edition Celebration Tilda (from Creashop Duymelot).

And last, but not least, this is Edwin with Egg Basket (from the Hoppy Easter Collection 2010). Hmm... you can't see very well, but those are little chicks on the ground running all around Edwin...hee hee.

A few details on the project:

The back of a coloured Tilda usually looks pretty messy, but normally it's to be mounted on a card, so who's going to care...LOL.. But since this time the back is exposed, I've glued each of them first on a black cardstock before I cut them out.

I used chipboard for the platform inside the cart (not as per tutorial), so that the platform wouldn't cave in under the weight of the egg. I had to cut out the hole for the egg with my craft knife as the chipboard is too thick for my circle punch.

I found this perfect die for the spokes of the wheel in a set of Spellbinders Shapeabilities called 2010 Snowflake Pendant--who would have thought!

A few challenges I'm entering with this project:

Totally Tilda - Challenge #18 – Tilda with Chipboard. I’m not sure if my entry qualifies. Although I used a piece of chipboard in each of the cart as mentioned above, it is used for support and is all covered up and not showing.

Stamp with Fun Challenge 103 – Spring. Easter is synonymous with spring to me.

Creative CottageChallenge #35 – Spring has Sprung

Wild OrchidChallenge # 19 – Dieing to Punch It Out. Beside all the spokes for the cart wheels (Spellbinders 2010 Snowflake Pendant), the huge pink rose was made using Magnolia doohickey die and for the rose leaves, I used Spellbinders Sunflower Set 2. And of course there are those punches--I can't even begin to tell you how many punches I used. All my flowers are handmade.

Charisma Cardz – Challenge 11 – To Die For

Stamp Something - Something Sweet Challenge. Well, you can't tell me these Tilda images aren't sweet! They're adorable!!

Secret Crafter Saturday – Challenge #126 - Anything But a Card

My Easter Parade is on my fireplace mantel right now. Some of the eggs have already been eaten (yes, they're real eggs) and the rest is in my fridge--they'll be eaten soon enough. I'll have newly-boiled eggs for when Easter comes in April. I was thinking that I would use this as a centrepiece for the dining table, but on second thought maybe not, as I don't want food spots on them...LOL.

Anyway, thanks so much for dropping by. Appreciate your visit very much. Sorry this is so long, but hope you've liked looking at my project just the same.

If you're taking part in the blog hop, I hope you've been enjoying yourself and are getting a lot of inspirations from the projects that you've seen so far. Only a few more blogs to visit...hang on, LOL. Your next stop at Paola's blog will show you what this amazing lady has created.

I will TRY to put in more details later (when I can find the time..LOL). I was in a colouring marathon and I was grabbing tools from here and there and everywhere. I didn't stop to take notes...LOL.

I've copied and pasted the complete rules from the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog:

Blogoversary and Birthday Candy

Yikes...I've been too busy working on something for the Magnolia-licious Easter-Spring Extravaganza (have you check this out? If not go here--not to be missed!) that I'm late making this posting.

March is a celebration month for me. Two days this month that I take note of:

1. My blogoversary--this past Sunday marked my 2 years at sure doesn't feel like it. Because I'm continually learning (and hopefully improving myself), I still feel like a newbie...hee hee.

2. My birthday on the 25th. Yikes, another year older! It's okay though, I actually look forward to it. The way I look at it (and I've been doing this for the past 1½ decades), each birthday takes me another year closer to early retirement...hee hee. And then...yes! I'll have all the time in the world for crafting (I'm counting on it!)--I'm almost giddy about this!!

Anyway, enough blabbering. For the past several months, I've been collecting crafty items for this, just things that I can afford buying them when they're on sale, duplicate items that I've mistakenly bought or ordered, etc. I figured if I do it a bit at a time, I won't notice the cost...LOL. I've been filling up what I call my "candy box". I've now taken those items and divided them into 2 candy sets, one for by blogoversary and the other for my birthday.

This candy is open to anybody and everybody who visits me. And if you are reading this, then you ARE visiting me...LOL. Just add your name into the Inlinkz below. That's it. Easy peasy!!! No need to be a follower if you're not already one. If you enjoy looking at my work, I would love it if you follow my blog, but that's entirely up to you.

I will randomly draw 2 names at the end of the month...this candy will close on March 31, 2011, one minute before midnight (Pacific Daylight Savings Time). I'll announce the winners on Saturday, April 2nd.

Good luck!

Pretty Butterfly - Magnolia-licious Challenge #9

Happy Tuesday! It's the second Tuesday of the month so it's another colour challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. February is Angela's month and she has chosen the colour GREEN for the challenge. Woo-hoo...I didn't have any problem finding green papers, cardstock and DP's--I guess I like green very much...LOL. This is my DT card.

Here's the picture for the colour challenge.

I used this wonderful sketch created by Rach for the Friday Sketchers, their Sketch # 144.

A few more challenges I am entering with this card:

Wild Orchid Challenges - Challenge # 18 - Anything Goes
Flutter By Wednesday - Challenge #144 - Open Challenge
Cute Card Thursday - Challenge #154 - Signs of Spring
Stamping for the Weekend - Challenge #5 - Springtime
ABC DT Challenge - Happy Birthday

Top Tip Tuesday - Birthday Challenge

This adorable image is called Tilda with Hawaii Flower from the newly-released Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011 from Magnolia. The background image is called Tulip Walkway also from the same collection. Both of them can be purchased from Magnolia-licious online store. (Oops sorry, I just checked and both of them--so popular--are out stock, but Diana has them on re-order. Check out the rest of the Tildas in that collection though--they are just as adorable. And OMG, Diana says there are more images coming!!! )

I got this new Marianne Design die set and one of them is a flower die. I had fun making the flowers--I thought they look pretty. The way I curled the petals made the flowers rather bulky--nice 3-D look I thought--they're about a half-inch high. I forgot about this fact when I decided to decorate the bottom of my easel card with them. And now I can't closed the card without flattening the flower...LOL. Silly me!!!

Please have a look at the other DT ladies' fabulous cards/projects at the challenge blog here. Get inspired and join us in our Green Challenge. The prize is a $25 Gift Certificate.

Thanks so much for dropping by. I very much appreciate your visits. And thank you so much to you beautiful people who have been leaving me such lovely and encouraging comments.

Stamps: Tilda with Hawaii Flower and Tulip Walkway from Magnolia's Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011, Inkadinkado rubber stamp Have a Great Day, the Happy Birthday sentiment is computer-generated.

Tilda Celebrates

I have several birthday cards to make this month--four of them I think...yikes! So here's one down... and three to go (gulp).

This is the wonderful sketch that I used for this card. This was created by Heather for the Challenge #38 at Basic Grey Challenges.

I've used 2 gorgeous DP's from the Basic Grey Indian Summer Collection: Milkweed and Maple Sugar. I love the design on the Milkweed paper and I was sorry that I had to cover it up for the front of the card. I decided to use the rest of the paper for the inside of my card so you can see the design better there (see below).

This adorable Tilda is called Celebration Tilda. She is a special edition Tilda made especially for Crea Duymelot Shop in the Nederlands. You can only get the stamp there. My friend Maz, gave me the heads up on this and I just couldn't resist her. She is very appropriately named as you can use her on a card to celebrate any occasion--very versatile.

I've made her an auburn or red-haired Tilda to match the colour scheme of the DP's. I think this is the first time I've used that hair colour on Tilda--at least purposely...LOL.

A few other challenges that I am entering with this card: (all having to do with flowers...hee hee...I can see that everybody is just so ready for spring!)

Magnolia Down Under - Challenge #85 - Flower Power

Simon Says Stamps - No cook recipe challenge - 1 image, 2 patterned papers (2 from the Basic Grey Indian Summer Collection), 3 different types of embellishments (flowers, ribbon and pearls).

Stamp Something Friday - Something with Flower Challenge.

All Sort Challenge - Week 92- Make your own flowers.

Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Here's the inside of the card. I've kept it very simple so you can see the DP design. See, isn't that paper gorgeous?

And here's a close up for the flowers I made--not that you really need a close-up shot, as you can click once, and then again, on the picture above to blow it up if you want a closer look...LOL. But I thought it would me a nicer layout of this posting.

Thanks for taking the time to drop by. I very much appreciate your visit.

Stamps: Magnolia Celebration Tilda, the sentiments are computer generated.

DP's: Basic Grey Indian Summer Collection Milkweed and Maple Sugar.

Tools: Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Set Wildflower Deep, Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Ovals Large and Classic Scalloped Ovals Large, Magnolia Doohickey Die Leaf, Nellie Snellen leaf punch and embossing punch, daisy flower punches from Martha Stewart, McGill and Punch Bunch, Martha Stewart Hydrangea petals punches.

Misc.: Ribbon and pearls from my stash.

Medium: Markers - Promarker, Touch and Letraset Tria Pantone (these Tria Pantones have been discontinued [boo hoo hoo, I cried buckets], but they are actually my favorites--good thing I bought the ink refills..LOL). Red hair was done with Touch 94, Tria Pantone 484, 486 and 4655.
