Butterflies Flutter By - Sweet Stamping Pixies First Challenge

Hello!
Woo-hoo, I am so excited. This is our first challenge at the Sweet Stamping Pixies Challenge.  It is a monthly challenge--the 2nd Monday of each  month--dedicated to stamped and digi images of pixies, sprites and fairies.  Please hop over to the Sweet Stamping Pixies Challenge site HERE to get the details.  Have a look also at the prize that Simon Says Stamps is offering as the sponsor of this challenge.

The theme for our first challenge is: Spring.  This is the card that I came up with.

I have other fairy stamps, but since Magnolia stamps are my faves, I've decided to use one of them for my very first Sweet Stamping Pixie card.  This adorable fairy is called Beautiful Tilda from the Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011.  My favorite colouring medium is the alcohol-ink markers, but every now and then I like to use my coloured pencils and I've used them to colour this image--except for the dotted background which I've done with markers.  I've added glitter to the wings.

This is actually a front panel side step card.  I've only made them with square cards before, but I sure like the way this round-shaped one turned out.  A couple of views here from different angles.

I would like to join the following challenges with this card:
Hooked on Craft - More than 1 fold
Crafts and Me Challenge #74 - Things with wings
Flutter By Wednesday Challenge #193 - Spring Time
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge #58 - Fairies
Allsorts Week 145 - Say it with flowers
Stampalot Challenge - In the garden

That's it for me for now.  I hope you will join our challenge.  You've got lots of time--a month!!!  And for more inspirations, have a look at the fabulous cards that my ever-so-talented teamates have created, HERE. Or to go to their individual blogs, I've got their links on my sidebar.
Have a wonderful week!

Tilda among the Magnolias - Magnolia-licious Feb Inspiration Challenge

Hello, hello, hello!
I can't believe it's almost the end of February and March is just around the corner, can you?

It's the 4th Tuesday of the month, so it's time for the Inspiration Challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog.  Here's my DT card.

I am the hostess this month, so I get to pick the picture.  This is the photo that I've chosen for the Inspiration Challenge and I want you all to 'Think Spring'.

I hope you will join us in our challenge.  And for additional inspirations, have a look at the fabulous cards from my DT teamates at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog HERE.

I used my markers to colour the images for this card.  This adorable one for the front of the card is from an older Bon Voyage Collection 2010 and is called Bon Voyage Tilda.  Head over the Magnolia-licious, Diana's online store, where she has a great selection of full-size and mini Magnolia stamps.  Check out her selections of dies too--Memory Box, Poppy Stamp, Marianne Design and Magnolia Doohickey.

Right from the beginning, when I started colouring Magnolia images, I thought that the perfect flowers to use for embellishments would be...what else...magnolias.  But I didn't see them anywhere, so I told myself that someday I should try making my own magnolia flowers.  That was part of reason I chose the picture...hee hee. It's that time!

I really tried making the paper flowers looking like real ones.  I luvvv... Magnolias (LOL...both the stamp and the flower) and always look forward to seeing the magnolia trees totally covered with blooms every spring--they just look glorious!  I wish the flowers would stay in the trees longer though, but they only last a few days before the petals start falling to the ground...sigh.

Here's what the inside of my card looks like.  This Tilda With 3 Flowers is from an even earlier Hoppy Easter Collection 2010.

I needed a verse or poem about spring, so I searched the internet and found this one, but there's no indication of who the author is.

Challenges that I am entering with this card:
Totally Tilda Challenge #42 - Tilda with dies cuts and punches
Crafts and Me Challenge #72 - Shades of Spring
I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge #105 - Time (springtime)
Fussy and Fancy Friday Week 57 - More Than Words (I have the poem in the inside of my card--don't know if that qualifies)
Stamping for the Weekend Challenge 4 - Bingo (ribbon, pearls, pink)
Allsorts Challenge Week 143 - It's Your Choice
Deep Ocean Challenge #20 - Spring

Thank you so much for taking the time to drop by.  I appreciate your visit and especially your lovely comments, as I love reading them.  Have a wonderful week!

Oh do you like my flowers? I've just got my shipment of gorgeous flower dies from Annelies at Crealies, all the way from the Netherlands. I couldn't wait to play with them...LOL. This is just one of their Creative Flower dies, CLCF 19.

For the bottom panel, I've coloured a couple of mini Magnolia images. I am still trying to find out the names of the Tildas--will edit when I find them...LOL.

Love - a shaped easel card

Hello.
Sorry that it took me a while to have another card to post. Life happens...LOL...so sometimes crafting just have to take a back seat for a wee while.

I made this card for a co-worker at the office who took some vacation time off to go abroad and get married. She is coming on Monday and in the meantime, since I seem to be the designated card maker in the office...LOL, I had to produce a card for everyone to sign to give to her when she comes back.

So I came up with this shaped easel card. I hope she will like it.

This Magnolia image of Edwin and Tilda from the Sweet Crazy Love Collection 2012 is actually called Cuddly Sibling, but I think it works just as well for a couple as siblings.

Do you know that it took me a while to figure whose boot that's at the very right belongs to? Whether it's Tilda's or Edwin's. I've seen it interpreted both ways...LOL. The way it looks to me though, I think that's Tilda's leg that's sticking out from under her ruffled skirt. What do you think?

Magnolia-licious, Diana's on-line store, is the place to get this and more Magnolia's wonderful products--adorable stamps (full size ones and minis), doohickey cutting dies, magazines, etc. Check out the other crafting tools and gorgeous dies that are available there too.

I had to make plenty of space for my co-workers--there are sixteen of them--to sign their names and maybe along with little notes, so I've made a swing away panel to leave the bottom base of the card blank. They can also use the top part.

Challenges for this card:
Stamptacular Sunday - Challenge #149 – Diamonds or Pearls (I've used pearls which is one of my favorite embellishments)
Simply Magnolia – Hearts & Love Challenge
Scrap & More February Challenge - Valentine or Love
Deep Ocean Challenges Challenge #18 – Love You
Going Grey with Scrap-Creations – Red, Pink and White
Passion for Promarkers Week 134 – New Beginnings (new married life)
7 Kids College Fund Challenge #40 – Use the colours red, pink & white in your project
Allsorts Challenge Week 139 – One or more hearts
Just Magnolia hAnglar & sTanglar Week 142 – Special Monthly Challenge of Anything Goes with the option of a Valentine’s card
Stampin’ for the Weekend Challenge 2 – Embossing

Okay that's it for me for now. Enjoy the rest of your week and have a wonderful weekend.

Home Is Where the Heart Is

Happy Tuesday!!! Today being the 4th Tuesday of the month, it's time for a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. This is my DT card.

Our monthly 2nd challenge is an inspiration challenge (the first one being a colour challenge) and Cabio who is our hostess for January has chosen this picture for your inspiration.

I hope you will come and play along with us in our challenge. And for more inspirations just have a look at fabulous cards/projects of my DT teamates HERE. There's random draw for a $25 Gift Certificate from Magnolia-licious.

Magnolia-licious is Diana's on-line store where those wonderful Magnolia products (stamps, doohickey cutting dies, magazines) are available. Check out also the gorgeous Memory Box dies there.

Now back to my card...it is another front panel side step card, but the front panel this time is off to the side instead of centered.

The images on this card are, of course, Magnolia's. This is my favorite Edwin. And I can really say that about this Edwin--it's my fave of all. I can't say that with Tildas though as there are just tooooo... many to single one out, so I have quite a number of favorite Tildas...LOL. This Edwin is called Edwin with Butterfly and he is from Magnolia's Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011. The house scenery image is called Welcome to a Lovely Home from the Sweet Crazy Love Collection 2012. I've used my coloured pencils to colour the images for this card.

Oops almost forgot to mention...I made a wee substitution on the image. The original one had Edwin holding up a butterfly, but I replaced it with a wrapped heart from another Tilda image.

Here's how I've finished up the inside of my card.

Mushy sentiment...LOL. I love this adorable Tilda. And yes you guessed it, she is ONE of my favorites...haa haa. She is from the Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011 and she is called Sweetie Tilda.

Challenges that I am entering with this card:
Just Magnolia hAnglar & sTanglar Week 140 – A window/door on your card
Cupcake Craft Challenges Cupcake 176 – All You Need Is Love
Let's Ink It Up Challenge #19 - Anything Goes
Everybody-Art-Challenge #177 - Swirls
Oldie But A Goodie Challenge – Have a Heart (my oldie but goodie is the Magnolia swirl & leaf dies--the swirls is my fave...ever)

Thanks for taking the time to drop by. I very much appreciate the visit. Have a wonderful week.
